STHLM's response rate is not what makes the threads die. We have his sticky to be thankful for as a springboard for concerns, after all.
I've been OP for most of the threads for a good 6 months now, and the more common trend is just people making their own threads about skincare if the 'skincare thread' hasnt been responded to for a while without enough posts in general.
And that has been a symptom of July and August's sudden huge surge of crossposters that may be used to more general threads or threads about any related topic (mainly /r9k/, /mu/ and /pol/, though mainly /r9k/.)
When it came to the general itself, most would thumb through a thread thats 60-100+ responses, but only add their 2 cents if it got bigger than that.
Before, STHLM was what kept people from checking back into the general and adding their 2 cents or concerns, keeping it consistent. Most people would simply forget the thread, or respond to other skincare related threads before they got saged.
Recently it's been the combination of both CA and STHLM (for the discussion and advice from two knowledgable perspectives) but it still needs a few bumps here and there to keep it alive.

Please remember that at the end of the day, this is just an anonymous mongolian forum for sharing recipies. Discussion and debate is great, but it's a shame to see hostilities grow like this when it derails to attacks of character and off topic claims and mention.
