Need some advice..

I was talking watches with a family friend who is an older guy and we were talking about his "coke" red and black gmt master.
Anyway I guess I was showing interest in Rolex (mainly because he was wearing one) and he says to me.. "heh I'll get to one, I know a guy (Rolex dealer who he's friends with) and I'll send you one." "I'll take you into the vault and you can choose one you like, and I'll send it. We'll talk before you leave. (currently on vacation)"

Now, I've seen this guy a couple times since then and he hasn't mentioned anything like that since. That's quite a bold statement to make to somebody, and honestly idk if he was fucking with me or not. How should I bring it up to him, if at all. Should I just wait it out and see what happens?
