Love the layers and textures here. I feel you on the boring comment as well, though the sweater has a nice texture that my shitty camera can't pick up. As for the jeans they're actually my loosest fitting pair- I think the lighting makes them look tighter than they are. You can kinda make out the extra fabric up top in today's fit (or I could be a delusional hediboy idk).

You need taller socks for sure, and I think any neutral colour would work. The belt also sticks out in a bad way. It's too "business casual" for the rest of the outfit.
