So i used to swim and shampoo my hair every single day and now its as dry as it could be.
I need advice for no-poo solution:

Could I apply coconut oil every night and wash it out under my shower in the morning and go on with my day? And I suppose a Sunday regular shampoo wash?

I have coarse hair and my hair only looks good when I have a fresh cut. After about 2 weeks, it looks like shit; little hairs are sticking out everywhere, gel or hairspray won't keep that shit down. I have my front 'bangs' flipped up and hair slicked to the side, kind of pic related. I use Axe Clean Cut Gel (works good first 2 weeks).

I'm thinking of getting a haircut.

Should I just run with this 'longer on top' thing and just get the sides shaved back to size 2, or should I cut the top back?

Normally I have the top curled back a little bit at the side, as shown with the arrows in pic related.

Tl;dr: Am I on the right track- should I just get what I have freshened up a bit?
