It's intricate as fuck regardless of how you actually feel about the aesthetics of it. Like the other anon said, it's more meant to sit in a display case inside some russian oil baron's vault than actually be worn on someone's wrist.

They sold it to a lot of different companies so what it's actually designated as varies from watch to watch. Bulova, Dugena, Hamilton, and obviously Buren itself all used the movement. The one pictured is Hamilton's, the most common version of which is the cal. 620
>tfw it was a grail for so long and then my grandpa left me one in his will without even knowing
thanks grandpa

Yes. It's a ~60's microrotor thin-o-matic that I pulled off a dead relative.
Yes, but not many. This is the only one I have on hand.
It's 36mm.

>So are microrotors actually any good at winding a watch?
Yes. There may be a small decrease in efficiency just due to their lower inertia, but you have to remember that in the course of a day your average automatic watch will go through enough rotation to wind your mainspring several times over. It wouldn't be a noticeable difference.
More manufacturers don't use them because they're lazy cunts, and because they are kind of complicated. It's a lot easier to slap a spinny weight onto the top of a movement than to design the bridges around a rotor and have that rotor connected to the mainspring through a more complicated gear train.
Also the major swiss movement manufacturers (ETA and Rolex particularly) seem to be allergic to making new calibre designs. ETA's been coasting off the same shit for 60 years.
I think we may get an affordable nippon microrotor eventually. I know the chinese also have one in the works.
Until then, I'm going to keep jerking off to my thinomatic.

it sounds stupid because it's a relatively affordable watch, but even before I was aware my grandfather had one the hamilton thinomatic microrotor with pillow case and cigarette markers was one of my favorite watches in existence
you can imagine the feels when he left his collection to me and I found it in his watch box
