Have you Anons tried it on yet? I have on several occasions at ADs, and to be honest I had issues with them:

1) The case is huge, but and while under normal circumstances that isn't an issue to me, it throws off the proportions of the dial if you're used to pie-pan constellations from the 60s.

2) The bezel surprisingly makes the watch look worse in person. The purpose of a bezel like this is to direct or attract the eye to the dial, but what you find when you get there is a lot of empty space (the Annual Calendar fixes this though). The beveling on the dial doesn't fix it though; it's subtle.

I was disappointed to be honest. The movement is not the problem, the proportions are (in my eyes). I would expect them to be reasonably affordable on the secondary market in a few years from now, because no matter how much my AD tries to push it on customers, he's not moving them. Maybe other ADs don't have this problem...but for this pricepoint there are lots of other great watches that look better (but might not have the mechanical engineering inside).

What do you think?

I normally put a pic of something, but I don't have any of the Telestop because it's ugly. So, I didn't post a pic. Get with the programme Anon.

Okay, here's the deal. There's nothing wrong with getting a Citizen, so you're not going to find anyone who will say, 'Don't get it because of x'. If it's purely for fashion, then it fulfills the criteria of being a watch that might end up in a drawer a few years from now, never to see the light of day again.

There are lots of Anons here who might wish to take the discussion to another level though...where we think of pieces that we would want to not only buy but hand down to the next generation. pic related.

I'm not saying that you need to consider it...I'm just saying that you might not get responses from anyone else on this board at this time because the quality of watch you're looking at is not at the same manufacture point as what is commonly discussed in /wt/ when it comes to gold watches.

Good luck with your purchase though. I've been thinking seriously about something gold myself....but that's another discussion for another day.

On a rather different note, has anyone else (sorry to stay on Omega) see the new Master Chronometers? I think the Globemaster looks okay except for the fluted bezel shit...I hate that...but the pie face is excellent and much needed. They do an 'olympic' version that is really subtle though, and nice....though boring. I'd buy it for the movement engineering, but aside from that it's rather non-descript.

What the fuck is wrong with me...are any of the oldies here? Please help...I think I'm losing my mind...(pic is beautiful, but for an inexplicable reason something I no longer lust after...)
