As the other anon said, they go with almost everything, it's unbelieveable how versatile these things are. User (the poster formerly known as Void) has some amazing fits with them, can't find them at the moment though.

Everything I've ever tried looked good with 1461s, it's amazing how versatile they really are.

Not OP but I needed a (EU) size lower than normal, tts might have worked with thick socks or an insole. My feet are pretty narrow though.

I own a pair of the top right (martens though, not solovair) and I love 'em. They're pretty versatile, which I didn't expect. I just avoid wearing them with light jeans, but I only have one pair light jeans.
I pair them with argyle socks and roll up my cuffs most of the time, but other times I just go black socks and wear my pants normally.
Pants+t-shirt,shirt or polo is what I do with it, it's summer and you can't do much anyway.

You need to be careful to avoid any and every stereotype, but it is possible.
The 1461/derby-type thingies are better for that but the boots are acceptable too.
