Agreed, but just remember that your 2nd category involves people who probably started it as a true hobby and had it 'grow' on YT during Covid shutdowns. If they want to continue producing 'content' today, then they have to keep coming up with ways to feature different watches, and they can't afford to keep buying new watches, so they get them on loan from jewellery stores, hence pulling them into the issue of compromised viewpoints due to accessibility.

I think you can 'trust' sellers who are obvious (i.e. Federico, T-mosso, and even Mahrk fram Lang-island daht calm). I mean, what do you value from their opinion? Your eyes can give you a lot if you have the chance to try stuff on in person, so trust your instincts.

Nah; if you keep coming back to a watch, it means you've won. Wear it in good health; it's a design that hearkens back to their railroad pocket watches.

>not a Hamilton, but a Waltham with the same general aesthetic design line.

I was gonna ask (re: pocketwatch damage). Sorry to hear it's not working Anon. I would suggest getting it done sooner rather than later though.

I had to get new hands for mine, but luckily the movement was fine. My watchmaker did have to restore one of the wheels (it was bent out of shape a bit), but other than that it's running within RR specs. Pocket watches are awesome; the technology is comparable to modern watches for the most part, but they're far more affordable for a higher aesthetic appeal.

I had a few back in the days when you had to get them from Hong Kong and the movements were beyond shit. Looked awesome, and my girlfriend at the time liked that one more than the real Omega that I had...lol In the end though, the real ones perform and feel very different to the fakes, and if you care about the technological performance and reliability of your watch, then start saving and get what you want. Saving is hard, and it requires discipline, but it's not impossible. Any watch is within reach, but the question is what are you willing to sacrifice in order to get it, and after buying it, will it enrich your life as much as the potential things you gave up. That's the question.

>>15295458
Nice; how's the time it's keeping?
>my Waltham Vanguard say's HI

>>15295467
Women do pay attention to watches, no matter what anyone else says. Make sure you pick one that is good (I'm talking about the woman, not the watch).

>>15295468
I had a polish chick want to fuck me after seeing my Omega...didn't know her at all, but her eyes lit up after she recognized it 'from her favorite Bond movie'...I think it was bullshit, but it did surprise the hell out of me. Then again, I found out later that she was born into poverty and was looking for a nice guy. Luxury watches mean money.

>>15295477
I'm going to eventually get one myself, but I'm saving for a Cal. 321 (not the new reengineered one, but one from 1965-7). They're still going around 10k or so for decent condition. Speedys are the ultimate hand-wound chronograph, both in reliability and aesthetic design. Good choice Anon.

>>15295500
Servicing is less than that, even at Rolex, especially for a simple movement with only a date complication. Chronographs cost more to service. Also, the recommended servicing time is 5 - 7 years, but the way most people wear their watches, you can go 10 years until service as long as you don't dive regularly.

Avoid glasshutte like the plague. They imitate Lange und Sohne but without the proportions and finishing. Fuck them. Save up and get the real thing. Same goes for Tudor.

Middle. It looks most militaristic but with the colour scheme. I'ts not a scheme, it's a conspiracy (anyone know what moveit hat's ffrom?"

It always fascinates me that idiots take the time to show their idiocy as quikcly as possible. I think you should take a good shit, I mean, a really good shit, and then determine with your eyes if you're eating healthily enough. Only then can you judge if paying 700 for the world's cheapest tourbillon is worht it. If you have no idea what I'm saying, then learn to fck yourself. No one cares about your respect, we don't wear watches for you. We wear them for selfish purposes...for teh love of the art, the technology, the ingeniousness of mankind (fuck the >>15140018
feminists). Pic fucking realated

>>15140018
Why should they be? Fucking flight watch. jessus has risen h christ.

You'll never get a fake white girl. Cope, but if you're mature then you won't have to.

>>15140394
Fun options. Go for what is most different to your colelction.

>>15140461
Yo'rue wrong. Sport watch refers to a wath that can handle at the least Polo (reverso) and at most intense diving (Rolex/Omega). Anyoen can wear a watch ,even if they have to re-evaluate their fitness. Fuck off and go jog because you need it.

>>15140513
Bauhaus is a wasted aesthetic, which finisehd itslef int he 1960's. It's beyond meme, it's pseudo-German articistic from the 1998's. As dated as MySpace.

>>15140539
no, it looks fine actually. DeVilles were the bottom Tier, and the combos of dials and hands were not well documented for this styel because of of this. If the movement is running well, then be happy.

>Hey...it's not your fault.

>>15094723
Well, keep your eyes open and careful of doorknobs, elevator buttons, and countertops (including keyboards). Both soap and hand sanitizer will work, so just be a little hyperaware and you should be fine as long as you're not sharing communal spaces (like break rooms). Sorry the suggestion is weak...your budget is really low. Consider saving for a few months and spending around 500 or less...you'll have many more options, including vintage.

>>15094724
They'll never reproduce it. Sadly, as we've seen with their 'Cal. 321 Reissue', they take a movement, reverse engineer it like the Chinese, make changes so that its easier to manufacture (under the guise of 'necessary improvements') and then sell it to the public for an exorbitant amount (that rivals what real Cal. 321s cost). Such is the business world.

I don't understand though, regarding the Daytona. Why don't you buy secondhand? There are more than enough of them floating around, and also, you'd be able to avoid the subdial problem they have on the new ones if you go vintage.

>no collection shot...but this is the most recent addition. Holding COSC standards, but better now that I know precisely how to carry it.

Why would you get a datejust? Why not a day-date? If you're going ornate, go full way. The modern day-date looks fucking awesome on the wrist, espeically in gold.

>>15087142
I dislike the aesthetic of the hands and face. Never a fan of the square diamond config. Also, no matter what anyone tells you, Tudor is the cheap Rolex. It'll always be perceived in that manner, so why fall into it? Save for another year and get a sea-dweller.

>>15087181
Depends on who's here. Sometimes it's fun (like those awesome anons who collect seriously), sometimes it's dead. Such is life. I haven't been here for a long time, but now that I'm off work I can get drunka gain...

>>15087274
It can be a variety of factors. For me, I love watches based on what experiences I've had with them. Maybe you've had good experiences with this vintage quartz.

>>15087330
Positioning is everything. I can keep my pocket watch dead on now taht I know what it does. For a movement from around 1911, it's doing just fine.
>pic related.

>>15087884
Easy anon. Omega was the first to develope a deep sea diver where you could operate the pushers at depth; the first iteration of the seamaster chronograph from the 1996 era, the precurser to the planet ocean chronographs and the one you see in >>15087865. You're also mistaken about the screw down pushers; they're screw down so you don't accidentally knock or damage them if they're not in use. Omega doesn't have screw down pushers at all; Rolex cosmographs do, but Omegas are permanantly screwed down(up), so they're always functional.

>>15087921
Generic? but if you like it, no probm.

>>15088892
If you like the design, why not? It's a rolex.

>>15089184
Never really liked it. Very generic case, and the face looks moonface.

Fuck, it's quiet here tonight.
