If Patek continues cutting every possible corner and focusing on catering to Chinks who want to have conspicuous, gold dinner plates on their wrists they're going to head the way of Audemars Piguet, Cartier, and (TAG) Heuer. Pic related really captures the pervasive cheapening of the Patek brand (also note the lack of the Geneva Seal, a 3rd party standard they no longer keep).

Lange is doing now what Patek Philippe did until the 1990s/2000s, which is about focusing on pure quality and timeless, classy designs with a small range of core, long-term models.

I still like some of the stuff from Patek, Vacheron, etc. but honestly I've come to see their cheapo movement designs offputting.

You literally cannot find fine bridgework on the low to mid priced Pateks, VCs, APs, etc. because they're cheap and don't want to put effort into anything. Only Lange deserves respect, and the only thing from the top category I would buy.
