Interesting. What about without a tie, and an open collar?
I'm confused as to why people might shy away from them. When I look at a collar underneath a crewneck, it can look good, don't get me wrong, but it seems to lack the same subtle flare and edge by restricting the flow of the collar. Then again, maybe it's not the actual v shape but the feeling that combining it with a sweater is 'wrong.'
