I take certain pieces from WASP culture because I like how some of it looks, esp on me. I'll wear a j press shaggy dog wool sweater with a pair of cheap dickies and vans slip ons because that's how I roll.

Listen man, I don't know where you are from but I'll let you in on a little something. I'm from New England, Connecticut specifically, I live 20 min from the Yale campus and have been around there. most of those kids that come from Legacy families don't even dress up "preppy" or whatever you consider preppy and if they do it isn't vineyard vines and boat shoes.

My first advice for you would be to not be something you aren't. That being said with the way you are going, you sound like you want to be a frat boy. stay off the "preppy" blogs and instagram's like KJP or whoever else you follow its absolutely pissening.

buy a pair of quality loafers, stop worrying about preppy trends and stick to traditional prep looks. it looks much better
