I think OP is aiming for those kinds of looks because it's less intimidating. Not entirely saying that every black person is intimidating, but if we're talking comfort level, some ignorant/sheltered minds would statistically be around white than blacks.

I don't think he wants to look like a complete pussy so people feel like he wouldn't fly, but not intimidating to the point where people want to avoid him.
