For some reason it feels like many grandpas like giving grandchildren their gold plated vintage Seiko 5s. My judgement of a pvd gold Seiko 5 aside, it works perfectly fine as a family heirloom (maybe in a not gaudy cheao looking variation) and even if the movement had major issues, every watch repair shop in the fucking world can fix it.
