/fa/, I've come to realize something. Recently I went through my wardrobe and began sorting things into piles of things I wear and care about and things I don't wear and don't care about. I have come to the conclusion that about 70% of my clothing is unworn.

I have always been the person who buys the cheap alternative to everything. If I want a pair of black chinos for example, I will buy them for $50 from a mall tier store rather than pay $150 for some decent quality pair from a respectable brand. In the short term I feel as if I have saved myself money but looking back, I realize that spending that extra $100 is the difference between a pair of chinos that I still wear today and a pair that I put away in a draw.

All the more expensive pieces of clothing I have bought I am still getting use out of and everything that I skimped on is sitting unused. I must have spent about $1000 - $2000 over the past year on low quality clothes and if I had put that money into a small selection of high quality basics, I would be ultimately happier.

I'm sure many of you know this already and have already learned this lesson but to you newcomers who are constantly asking for "cheap alternatives" to this or that, just save for a little longer and buy what you really want because in a years time, that pair of Vibram boots are going to have brought you a lot more joy than those pair of ASOS boots you settled for or that Alexander Wang longsleeve is going to be a better investment than the H&M lookalike. Money isn't wasted on expensive things that you use. It's wasted on inexpensive things you don't use.

What's on your "to cop" list?

I'm sure most people on here have a list of stuff they plan on buying in the future, either because they need to save up or because it's something that they're trying to find second hand. Doesn't have to be grails.

Is it normal for older Raf Simons sneaker models (mainly the velcros) to just have "RA (insert shoe size here)" printed on the inside of the tongue?

I'm about to pull the trigger on some high top black Raf velcros. They'll be my first actually designer purchase (unless you consider APC to be designer stuff).

I'd like to know beforehand if they're really worth the money.
They cost half a grand, which is a bit more expensive than CP Achilles, yet they have the same soles.

Can I really expect CP quality on the Rafs? Will the leather last really long, can I beat them up a little without stuff tearing apart?
Or should I rather cop CPs if I care about quality a lot?

Basically, are Raf Simons velcros worth the money for real, compared to other high quality shoes?

Pic semi related, I'll get them entirely black.
