I think there's been a large user base transition lately, so a lot of people here are just out of highschool or around that age, so most are on a budget. Also techwear doesn't get a ton of love on /fa/ except for in very recent memory.

What's important to you? Performance? Cost? Desigin? When you say techwear do you actually technical and performance clothing or are you thinking of a certain style, people on /fa/ tend to mix and confuse the two.
