Writing the only resources I know about is to read all of George Orwell's advice https://www.mtholyoke.edu/acad/intrel/orwell46.htm note the 6 "rules for writers" at the end of that essay. Live by those and you should be fine. Christopher Hitchens also has a lot of workshops he filmed talking about writing for a living. His advice is "if you feel you NEED to write, instead of want to write, then you'll do OK".

And remember,
here's how it goes for your resume: 1. Portfolio of finished projects: games, utilities, robots, web applications, whatever. 2. Your actual skills. 3. Education. 4. People skills and connections. School is important, but not the most important thing that will completely block you.
