here's the explanation:
caucasian australians were pissed off because chinese gold diggers were coming to australia by the hundreds and taking their opportunities. the chinese had been gold digging for longer and had better techniques for extracting gold, so got more gold, and often found gold where the white people couldnt.
so the white people all got together and beat the fuck out of the chinese people because they were jelly af. the government gave them very minor punishments because they wanted immigration but also didnt really care about the chinese. the white people thought any punishment was wrong so they started a rebellion.
now this links to the skinhead movement because the skinheads similarly felt that non-white people (largely the vietnamese following the viet war) were moving to australia and taking white ppl opportunities. as such they used the eureka flag in the same way that the current tea party mimics the first tea party.
