The only people this dedicated to picking fights with danposts and then sticking around to see them through have been doing it for a long time. Most normal people see a dan post, shrug and carry on with their /fa/ business.

And every time we meet, anon, I to thank my lucky stars that I'm not as pathetic as you.

You spend your free time internet stalking the BIG BAD DAN

Waiting around /fa/, passing the time shitposting in hopes that I'll return or pop by and you can do the same old samefag routine and spam the same old insults.

Sounds like you tried to make a bait thread but unexpectedly got serious answers.

Time for you to fuck off now, son.

I used to think converse were cool too... back when I was eight.

I dislike both. I probably dislike vans less than converse because the branding is generally subtler and can be snipped off.

Nels Cline fan detected.

9/10. Bretty good taste.

-1 point deducted for wearing vans.

what the fuck does that even mean?

No don't answer that I know what you're going to say:

>classy suits man!
Office etiquette. Standards of uniform presentation. Originally it was meant to break down class distinctions and put everyone on the same level because *anyone* could afford an off the rack suit and would look pretty good in it. And everyone fit an off the rack suit because people weren't fat back in the day.

It wasn't 'classy'. It wasn't 'fashionable'. It was standard, nondescript and presentable. The 20th century equivalent of being issued khakis and a blue golf shirt so you can work at bestbuy.

Not sure where else to ask, so I figure WHY NOT ASK /fa/ THEY TALK ABOUT THEIR DOPE CRIBS ALL THE TIME.

My google-fu is weak and I need example pictures of directional flush mount or semi flush mount lighting fixtures being used in rooms with low ceilings.

Prefer real world examples but any shot of the lights actually installed in a room will do.

I'd buy you some microbrew and chat about lo-fi folk and we'd both pretend to be too good for NMH, and then we'd go back to your leaky duplex and fool around on your hideous floral couch and when I pull off your jeans you'd have this fucking jungle of 70's bush and when I see it I'd smile, look you right in the glasses and say "just as planned".

different stroke for different folks.

Like country? Like punk? Like classic rocknroll?

Get the tele.

Like surf? Like Jazz? Like noise and experimental? Get the Jazzmaster.

They're definitely not a conventional look, no. There's nothing slim about them and the way-forward laces is something you don't see very often in fashion boots... but they evoke this sporty-70's look which I kind of like. I've got some nostalgia for that shit. My dad had a pair of low top d-ring suede hikers from his days being a longhair living in a van in 70's that he gave to me and I fucking loved those boots. Wore them for a couple years in highschool but they were already worn when I got them and they didn't last.

I don't think the difference between practicality and fashion is necessarily so cut and dried.

It's a continuum, like everything in life.

On that sliding scale, I'd say these danners fall somewhere between the two.

You know, if there's any one thing that I'd want to steal from the goofnugget aesthetic and incorporate into my style, it would be the hoodies. I like the idea of an oversized asymetric hoodie in black.

Make me look like a goddamn jrpg wizard.

They'e hikers for hiking. I have city boots for fashion, but I need some practical shit too. that said, they need break in. So I'm wearing them around town until they're ready for hikes. Once they're good and soft I'll be going back to my 1k miles.

With all that said and done, there's been streetwear fashion versions of this same model all over the place. People who don't even hike wear them. So I don't feel bad about wearing mine around town as they soften up.

Depends on what jacket you're wearing or if you're carrying a bag or what have you.

Duffle coats or top coats with patch pockets? Stuff em in there. Looks badass.

Dude. That's butterscotch blonde with a black pickguard and brass saddles. You're talking about fucking with THE iconic '52 tele configuration.

If you wanted a different look why on earth did you get the guitar that is specifically emulating the style a 50's blackguard tele? If you're planning on fucking with it, why not just get a more modern American Standard? Fuck man. The 50's style three barrel saddle doesn't even intonate properly. You don't even buy these things unless you're an ultra-traditionalist or plan on swapping in compensated saddles.

>dimarzio
ugh. Putting some shitty dimarzio pickup in that thing = missing the point entirely.

>>7581005
Hotrodders used to LOVE the squire '51 back when they were like 120 bucks cheap. Original squire design -- wasn't a fender copy... had one humbucker, one single coil and a switch for coil taps + series/parallel stock.

You'd swap the pickups for something good, replace the nut and some hardware and you've got a damn versatile guitar for pennies.

I just got these and I'm still breaking them in. I figure they'll be ready after about two weeks of every day wear. No hikes yet. Leather is stiff and fuck. I'm really shocked at how light they are, actually. For the size of the sole and the heavy leather, I expected more weight. Like, a lot more. They're quite warm too. You definitely want a synthetic liner sock under your wool hiking socks to wick the sweat.

Best things about them are:

Single piece upper (no seams no leaks)
Norweigan welt (even more stability and water resistance than goodyear welt)
double tongue (no way for water to get in)
gore-tex lined (hahaha fuck you again, water)

I figure I'll slather these in wax, clip on some gaiters and rain pants and my goretex shell and I'll be drier than Freja's vajayjay in the presence of men.
