I base a lot on customer service, more than I should most likely.

But you are right, paying 80 for a toe cap and less annoying branding is a little on the silly side.

But over all, I still like the LL Bean model more than the Chippewa model.

As a bonus, with LL Bean you don't need to unlace your boots to remove that stupid flag either.

I do hear you though.

dude, you aren't going to get anywhere with these people without either reposting one of those fits, or posting a new fit.

so I'd suggest if you aren't willing to do that, that you just stop replying to these people in general.

Why do you think that?

I think my ipod and the laptop(which I got back, so it didn't really get stolen) are the only things outside of a skateboard when I was like 14 that have ever been lifted from me.

Save up, buy better and fewer items. Fall isn't till October, you still have a month and a half to scrape together 50bucks.

>>6689849
Plus, I really fucking hate the massive stamp on the side of the boots.

Are you talking about buying them direct from the manufacture?

It used to make a lot more sense, because they offered the exact same boot, for around 70$. And when I say exact same, I mean literally the exact same.

Now, things are a little different, and while I agree the toecap may not be worth the extra cash, I still stand by them as the best choice because of LL Bean being behind them. If you've ever dealt with the company before on returns/warranties or any issue, you'd understand where I am coming from with that.

Some guy robbed my macbook like that awhile ago.

I found him and got it back really quick though.

My headset + Ipod though was gone, gone. The headsets were the IE 7s from Sennheiser. My backups are a pair of CX 300s, and a pair of really cheap sennheiser buds I picked up the day my IE 7s were robbed from HMV, I think they ran 20$.

Really have the urge to buy a new solid set again, but I feel weird doing it with two good enough pairs sitting about.

I don't know how to describe it beyond simply not caring at all about how she looked. It was incredibly basic stuff, sometimes horrible items that looked impossibly horrible, and she had a bit of an attitude about how dressing well was for people that were lesser than her.

I guess if I had to pinpoint some of her looks, think topanga from boy meets world.

Are you the beats guy? because if so, you are dead wrong.

>>6689704
I had a sick pair of Sennheiser buds, then some asshole stole them. So I have my two backup Sennheisers. But am now in the dilemma of wanting new buds, but see no reason for them because I've got two pairs that work perfectly fine.

They were all gifts by the way.

Interesting.

To be honest, I don't really travel much from /fa/ anymore outside /p/ and /trv/. So my info might be out of date also.

>> No.6689714 [View]

/fa/ is like 4chan, a unfiltered hivemind.

You can find a lot of info on 4chan that is wonderful, /fa/ offers up a lot of great information. But over all, you need to learn how to take that information and turn it into something that works for you.

In other words, don't read everything and expect it to be exactly right for you. Really use the information from here as a platform to learn more independently.

Outside of that, it is a great place to get some understanding of brands, construction, and sometimes fashion world gossip.

Lots of people post here that aren't the typical highschooler who is just starting out, you just need to figure out for yourself which posters on here are the ones worth listening too, and which ones aren't worth listening too.

And perhaps even down to "this person knows a lot about this, but his/her opinion here isn't as solid".

TL;DR take it all with a grain of salt, but use that grain as a start to independent thought.

I hate using the autistic argument, but I seriously hate seeing people cruising with these massive headsets on.

It just makes me feel like they are so shut in, and shut off from what is going on around them. It is depressing.

>>6689665
You seriously have some horrible trendwear in this pile.

>>6689670
What? I thought the Panasonic's were still being pushed on here the most?

>> No.6689671 [View]

Unless you know the fit is dialed the fuck in, meaning you've tried it on, and it fits like a dang glove, I'd say no. If you do know it fits perfectly, then go for it.

Know it fits perfectly means you've tried the exact jacket you are buying on.

>> No.6689661 [View]

The LL Bean boots are pretty much the best boot for dollar on that list in my mind. I'd grab them, and some SnoSeal and run with them till I wore the bastards out.

weird

>> No.6683753 [View]

Yes.

And I've without question, lost interest in a cutie because of what she wore.

I seriously doubted my sexuality when that happened, because she was a cutie. But I just couldn't deal with the shit she was wearing, so I peaced out on the bish.

I'd suggest this has more to do with trend driven clothing, and the ultra fast pace fashion has today in comparison to yesteryears.

Which in respect has a connection to the costs of clothing, because now the trends move so quickly, one cannot invest in a set of solid well made pieces for a continual period of time, because within roughly 6 months, the majority of the 'in' things will be ruled 'out'.

Which has caused the push towards fast fashion to peak, with people buying cheap toss away clothing rather than solid pieces built in a way which may outlast the current trends of the time in which they are made.

I think too much into things.

World War 2 is what we have to blame for arguably the most casual item of clothing out there.

I'd look at the mass acceptance of wearing a T-shirt as an outer garment was the start to the increase in casualness of our clothing after the war.

The backlash to McCarthyism likely had a good role to play into it as well.

leather is leather, so I wouldn't worry about that. The creams will work no matter what the leather has been transformed into.

You can still wear brown boots with black jeans.

Any leather boot treated with SnoSeal that has a leather sole will work perfectly for rain and snow.

The BeanBoot is a option though if you are really paranoid about winter.

>>6673814
I never use wax or polish, and only condition my boots. I don't have a use for mirror finishes, so I don't bother with them.

There aren't really any 'bad' conditioners. I've always used Venetian Shoe Cream, and over the past 3 or 4 years I've been using Saphir as well. I use different creams, for different boots.

The cedar helps keep the shoes from stinking up, and the trees themselves aid in keeping air flow circulating as the shoes sit. So I'd say pick them up, and see if they help. At 25bucks, they aren't a really intense investment.

>> No.6673680 [View]

Stinking is your foots fault, not the boots. For that, get cedar shoe trees, and let them air out between wearings. Then also maybe invest in a good odor eater if your feets be nasty.

As far as the rest, just condition your boots. Use the product I linked to here >>6673637 if you'd like, or just grab any shoe cream at all. Using a conditioner will have a great effect on the boots longevity.

That is really all you need to do. Trees, and conditioning. You'll be set with that.

I wouldn't go that far, it is better leather, but I'd wouldn't say its more than a jump away.

And thick leather or stiff leather is always uncomfortable. I've got Alden's that killed me while I broke them in.
