what even? this is so wrong. leg twist is caused by washing, not by hemming...

90% of all high quality denim will be raw. so yes you are limiting yourself if you don't include raw denim in your options.

they're only uncomfortable because the cork midsole has molded to someone else's foot. if you'd purchased them brand new and broken them in yourself they'd be pretty comfortable.

the "best choice" is really dependent on what you want in a pair of jeans. do you want something skinny, tapered, or slim? do you want something with a uniform fabric or a crazy japanese slub monster? no one can really tell you what 'the best choice' is unless you give us an idea of what you want.

i'm mad this guy came in here bashing N&F elephants, claiming to 'run a local denim import store' but never came back to justify his pretty serious claims. smh.

technically, denim is a type of twill. Twill is a fabric weaving style, and denim is twill made from cotton fabric and dyed with indigo, if my understanding is correct. So to say that twill is just washed denim and stitched into a chino pattern would probably be correct.

>Elephants are garbage quality, they're literally too heavyweight for the cotton to actually function the way denim is supposed to.

please elaborate on this. what do you mean they're too heavyweight? is the weave too tight? is this not also true for stuff like Iron Heart and Samurai heavyweights and the UB 21oz denim?

those two pairs of denim are really different. those april77s look like a skinny-tapered fit, whereas the PBJs are a slim-tapered fit. PBJs have a indigo dyed weft AND warp, making them initially super dark(way darker than the April77 denim) and have a unique super slubby fabric that can't be found anywhere else.

p.s. don't give any money to blue in greed. buy from Denimio instead. free shipping and you'd save $100 because denimio isn't overpriced.

>700 dollars for a pair of jeans

are they bad denim? no. are they worth $700? fuck no. the denim is unremarkable and the cut isn't unique anymore. if you know anything about denim construction and the nature of the fabric you would understand that after a certain price point you are paying for unique cuts and characteristics of the fabrics, and in some cases(like this one) you pay for the brand name. personally I am quite brand agnostic and I don't think that there's anything about these jeans that justifies their price. you don't have to handle them in person to see that.

because 4chan is a terrible place for intelligent discourse, everybody around here prefers to call people faggots instead of actually debate or discuss.

definitely. throw that shit up on grailed, sufu, style forum, eBay, or even the reddit b/s/t thread and you'll definitely find a buyer.

yeah i guess you have a point. i was looking at it from a purely aesthetic POV and it just didn't appeal to me. but i can understand appreciating the work that went into making the pieces.

i'm in college as well, I've seen a couple people like this, and my friend said that everyone on the lacrosse team at her high school did it. personally i think it's one of the dumbest fucking fashion trends i have ever seen. it just looks like you can't afford a proper hoodie so you have to keep wearing a beaten up ripped one.

You're right, i forgot that there are different quality levels of Levi's denim depending on which store you get them from. so scratch levis, and go up a little bit to Unbranded at $80.

The point is that people try to act like if it isn't $345 japanese raw denim it's going to fall apart after five wears. in reality the difference in quality purely in the area of longevity of the denim really isn't that much as you go up in price.

>implying a vivism jacket will actually last 3 times longer than a normal jacket

you're like one of those people who try to justify the price on raw denim by saying that it lasts longer. $50 levis will last just as long as $300 iron hearts. You're paying for the exclusivity and the small details and you know it.

why is looking like a hobo seen as desirable? you're literally paying $300+ per piece to look like someone out of the great depression
