japan blue's tapered cut is similar to the weird guy, except it is about .25 of an inch slimmer in every measurement.
3sixteen's ST cut is most similar to the weird guy, it is half an inch slimmer in the thigh and knee and .15 of an inch tighter at the hem.

nope! you can even pull the nep out with your fingers if it bothers you.

this diagram will help explain the difference for warp and weft. Warp is the fibers that are traditionally on the outside of the denim, and the weft is the underside. Weft is usually bleached or left natural white, but when it's dyed different colors like black, red, or deep indigo the result is jeans like Naked & famous' red weft, the PBJ XX-012 and the 3sixteen shadow selvedge.

>>8676486
sorry nep is when the weft yarns poke out, not the warp ones.

and slub is an irregularity in the denim, but it doesn't affect the structural integrity or durability of it. so it's not negative.

people like the shadow selvedge because of the cuts that it comes in and the construction quality and minimalist detailing of 3sixteen jeans. And among raw denim brands, indigo/black isn't exactly uncommon, it's just a good example of it done very well.

slub is inconsistencies in the denim. some of the yarns are thicker or thinner than the rest. Nep is when small knots of the warp yarns poke out on the surface of the denim.

people like slub because no two pair of jeans will have the same exact slub patterns, and it's just another small characteristic that sets raw denim apart from projectile loomed standard denim. here's a good picture to illustrate the difference between the two.

3Sixteen has some nice cuts and their famous shadow selvedge. PBJ(my personal favorite) has super slubby and neppy denim. Momotaro has a very nice fabric, more uniform than PBJ but decently hairy and a few different colored wefts. their Blue Owl collaborations are very sought after. Sugar Cane has some really cool half cotton half sugar cane denim, but they only make repro cuts. The Flat Head has denim that makes amazing vertical streaking/falling fades. ONI has a nice super tapered cut and their jeans are probably the slubbiest around. Iron Heart is the king of heavyweight denim.

this actually isn't true. denim will shrink in length and width when it's washed or soaked. the amount of shrinkage depends on whether or not the denim is sanforized and the temperature of the water and amount of agitation during the soak or wash.

did i say outseam? my bad. but damn. I can't make a single mistake before you fucking assclowns jump down my throat. I spend some of my free time on this board helping people with their questions and you two are... doing what exactly? do you honestly have nothing better to do than to insult me?

yeah just fill up your tub full of cold or hot water, and submerge them completely for an hour or so. soap is optional.

>>8669099
you can tell the tailor to taper the jeans from the outseam instead of the inseam and the selvedge will be preserved.

>>8669205
all three of those jeans are decent for their price. the twisted candy weft ones will be pretty unique once they fade. also the sellers of those used pairs are dirty liars. it's impossible for a pair of denim to stretch more than a size and a half unless it's APCs which use shitty cotton that stretches an abnormal amount.

seem fairly basic/boring, similar to the APC PS in terms of fit

they are a fairly standard indigo/white denim but have the nice japan blue fabric. they are cut similarly to the unbranded 101. they are a great starter pair.

your options are to either:
1. buy bean boots
2. buy chippewas
3. save money and buy some red wings(this is what i recommend)

I think it could look good with a dress shirt, chinos or dark denim, brogues, and suspenders. tattoos and facial hair would help infinitely.

very overhyped, essentially the same as APCs. they are overpriced because of the 'dior' name.

no. all denim will fade. raw or not. if you don't want 'high contrast' fades, which is what most people like, washing them regularly will cause them to fade, but fade all over instead of in a couple places only(high contrast).

if you want denim that doesn't fade, i think this is your only option. http://blueingreensoho.com/site/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=shop.flypage&product_id=6810&category_id=&manufacturer_id=9&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=62

i say go for the unbranded. Uniqlo selvedge is ok, but unbranded is a bit better.

indigo/indigo master race
they start off looking like almost like black denim and then end up a sick electric blue color

yeah. I guess i should've said that for their price they're worth every single penny. their leather isn't as good as viberg or trickers or nick's or white's or whatever but they have to make sacrifices somewhere for that price point.
