It's getting close to the end of the thread, just thought I would point out that next thread I'll be adding more stuff.

Below, @me some good shit to add to the OP and I'll start up the thread when this one dies.

I'm gonna be a faggot and make a trip specifically for this thread.

I already make belt tails so sewing faux fur is no problem. I specifically got a machine for that very reason. So now I make a lot of stuff and I do side work too.

do you guys think that I can take the knowledge of making a shirt or pants over to making (a) fursuit(s)? yes hate me for it but let's face it $4k per suit, hell yeah.

>> No.2680963 [View]

Gonna start making pants and shirts soon, have other ideas with them to make some cash. Anyone have any good tips?

Dude, some of the best suit makers and dress makers out there are men, not to mention how many of them make amazing swim suits that you enjoy to see on women.

So come to find out, this was going so smoothly that people liked it. Dope. I enjoy talking about sewing. Comfy.

Talk about sewing, show off your work, and ask questions, if you're new to sewing don't hesitate to ask questions. We all started someplace. We will try to answer them the best we can.

We need more tailors and seamstresses out there.

Except OP is clearly a school kid ("ba a boatbuilder and where now".. come the FUCK on..) who has been tasked with a simple exercise which he should be able to do based off his own research. Asking a bunch of faggots on 4chan is not doing his own research, and you are offering nothing but a precedent that states to OP that he does not need to think and analyse for himself, he can just crowdsource it. And that's just what we need right? Another retarded human with zero critical or analytical skill.

This is not someone with tools and resources, this is literally a homework thread, and you are the cancer killing /diy/ for suggesting that this is helpful.

Sage because obvious underageb&.

so /diy/ I want to improve my shitty welder without breaking the bank. Pic related, that's it. Can I splice the power cable into 2 120v plugs and plug them both in at once? Theroitacaly it should produce 140A. Now I am not an electrical by any standards but I can wire up a plug. Will this work or will I burn my house down?

I wanted a special engagement and wedding ring set for my wife to be. I had some skill with 3d cad as I am a product designer and so designed the ring set in rhino. I did a lot of research first about the casting process and the shrinkage factors to take into account between the 3d printed wax parts and the final platinum casts. I also researched and read about stone setting and ring design in general. I used Pt95 which is 95% pure platinum with some other metals to aid in casting.
The jewellery casting house I chose both 3d printed my lost wax parts and cast them in the final metal. So I recommend finding a company that can do as much of the process as possible as it makes the process much mire manageable
I looked up a diamond exchange website and procured a 0.6ct trillion diamond of high quality for about $2.5k. I designed My engagement ring to have bezel style stone holding features.

Once the parts were cast and paid for. I took the raw castings (3rings) to a local jeweller who finished the set for me.
He trimmed away the sprues and polished the casting marks and wax print detail away, and also had a bizarre person set the stone. Most jewellers apparently outsource diamond setting as its a whole talent in itself best reserved for specialists.
The total cost was about 6k all up for 3 rings, one engagement ring, 2 wedding bands.
my ring weighs an impressive 21grams. Pt is also much heavier than gold so it feels weird at first. When ppl ask about it and I let them feel the weight it causes a bit of surprise. Although it cost me 6k. It has been valued (the set of 3) @ 19k. Jewellery has a high markup.
Pt is also stronger than gold and is less weakened by casting.
Casting gold creates a weaker ring than one that is hand forged hence the guy above said casting is for toys. Not true though. Casting is a versatile and effective method for producing one off designs as well as high volume rings.
Its not an easy project.
Read. READ. Research!!

Been smoking cigars for a year now. I was smoking almost every day but have cut down since the winter. I started because I liked the culture surrounding cigars, and really got into it when I realized it made my ear popping tick go away. I've started smoking the cigarette looking filtered cigars lately as they are cheap and quicker so I can smoke them at work. Santa Fe's ate like $2.79 a pack (same pack as cigs) at the shop I like.

I can go a few days without smoking but my ear popping habit comes back when I get stressed or tired.
