I tried for sound, but apparently "audio streams aren't allowed." If you're really interested, I'll just put the full size files in my drop box. There wasn't really anything groundbreaking in the audio though.

It was me, my brother, my girlfriend, and a mutual friend from Chicago here.

Actually, it should be John 20:27. I was quoting from the whole John ch. 20, but I hit 20:27 right as he was inserting his hand in to the torso there.

Unfortunately, even though I didn't tell them what I was doing, they all suspected simulated cannibalism. Even still, they didn't guess the length to which I would take it, so it still worked out well.

While I've got some time to kill, here's what I learned.

When you're making the skin out of fauxtex, mix together a large batch of water and food coloring first, then use this pre-colored water to make the fauxtex. Otherwise there can be slight color variations from batch to batch that are really noticeable. You can see it on my dummy where the skin over the stomach doesn't match the skin over the chest.

Factor in a good amount of time for finishing up the body before guests arrive. I ran out of time so the skin on the arm wasn't anywhere near done, and I didn't have time to blend and join the skin between the chest and stomach.

If you're making the bread on a mold, like I did for the skull, don't remove the mold until you have to. I removed the little plastic skull, and everything looked good, but by the next morning it was shrinking, deforming, and cracking because of the way it was drying.

Making some webms now. In the meantime, I wanted to reply to a couple of comments here.

Outstanding advice. I simply didn't have time to go this route. Casting the whole torso would have made placing the ribs easier, and would have made the whole thing more consistant. Not sure how I would have fit the bowl of soup in upside down, but if I had to do it all over again, I would definitely try to start with a cast like you suggested.

Sorry I couldn't get these videos posted sooner. Too much to drink on easter, and work consumes almost all of my weekday hours.

I actually did 'break off rib and dip in stomach bile' during dinner just for you.

>>967776
Hmm. Doesn't seem weird to me. Just seemed kinda funny.

Will post to /ck/ shortly. /diy/ gets first dibs since the thread lived here.

This is awesome. I wish I had seen this a little bit sooner. The skull never turned out right, but this would have seriously helped.

>>968866
Thanks. I'm taking your advice to make the webms now.

OP here. The best pictures I got are in video files. I'm gonna get a couple of decent still frames, and I'll try to get the best stuff I can put in to some webms. I can use vlc player to convert to wemb, right?

Everything is behind schedule, as usual, and it won't look as good as I was hoping for, as usual, but, regardless of OP pic, OP will deliver.

And then without the jacket. The skull is obviously too small. Thinking of making a bigger one using the same bread recipe, but I only have so much time left. If you look closely, the plastic heart mold is in the chest. The wig is exactly the right size.

A couple more shots to show the scale of this thing. Here it is with my jacket over it. The silver platter is about 3.5' long. The hood covers the head, the jacket comes down to where the waist would be, and the plastic hand mold is where the hand should be.

Exactly. In the original post I mentioned that I only need something that approximates a skeleton. This thing is still going to have a bowl in the pelvis and some other objects embedded in it which make it even less correct. Also, technically, it doesn't have enough ribs, the collar bone is mis-shaped, the sternum is all wrong, etc etc.

On the other hand, I don't think the picture is doing it justice either. From the top of the ribs to the bottom of the pelvis measures almost 3'. Thats about the same size as my ribs and pelvis and im 6'2". Looking at it sitting on the counter, it's actually kinda creepy. We'll see how it looks later with some skin on it.

OP here. So I've got this scaffolding made out of 6AWG copper wire. Going to try to bake the ribs, all at one time, and pre-formed, tonight.

One thing I've learned so far, you would never be able to fit an actual adult human in your oven all at once.

Got the brain, heart, and hand molds. Brain is for pate course, heart is for dessert, and hand is for meatloaf.

OP here.

Had some ok success with the soda bread bones. It was a pretty standard recipe that I modified slightly and will probably modify a little more.

4 cups flour
2 cups water
.75 tsp baking soda
.75 tsp baking powder
1 tbls kosher salt

Next time I'll probably brush it down with water to smooth out the outer surface a little.
