bluebook price geo metro 2-3k price of motor and speed controller 3k for batteries and charging system necessary mods .5k and your time totally road worthy car capable of going nearly 100(theoretically) and your time and effort 6.5k for the stuff plus your time and energy still sounds better than proprietary ecus and clever ways to lock you out of being able to interface with the car

cheapest 2012 us car Nissan Versa 1.6 S: $11,750

then again your time and effort is priceless

agreed this is over the top @12k just for 4 motors and speed controllers not to mention batteries but you could make a quadcopter with this and fly yourself from place to place

or you could put one in a geo metro 1liter it matches perfectly for rpm as long as it is manual

>electric just makes sense
what is harder to do hook up a fuckton of sensors for efi tuning and timing and maintenance? you gonna make an ecu or ecm or electric car would be cheaper make a range extender too if you would like

mark my words we are getting really close to this cus computers all you need is a little /diy/ knowhow and a computer these days and you can do just about anything

I say go for it!

i dont know how this works but something like thishttp://www.ebay.com/itm/Loc8tor-PLUS-Child-Pet-Locating-Homing-Device-Locator-/190707258501?pt=U
S_Tracking_Devices&hash=item2c6709d485

and dont gimmie the crap that the range wouldnt work 304 km is 2.4ghz record and /diy is full of usb wifi range extending high gain antennas.

and even if I have to make one similar to this http://www.jameco.com/Jameco/PressRoom/rocket.html?emc=el&m=350176&l=5&v=10500098e6
locator with the use of oscillators

and we all know that software defined radio could help us with this.

I don't have any particular project in mind but I find that it could be extremely useful for tracking multiple people vehicles or robots in an area so similar to a minimap in an fps or blueforce tracker used by the us army. I dont know how practical this would be with a gps but I would prefer close to real time location information and direction but at the with a radius of at least 100 feet

but right now the diagram I am wondering if it was possible to do this at any range. and just IF this has been something someone has done.

I know you could just look at the wifi signal strength you can kind of get general direction but this method is too slow and I want to know how to do this maybe diy style arduino type of thing would solve this maybe?

anyhow I know this is very possble i just dont know how to diy

how can I do this with just two wifi dongles? hopefully I can eventually do this with two raspberry pis but is this even possible with only two wifi cards or would I need a gps and compass as well as other sensors? just want something that can give me a the direction of something and how far away it is and hopefully possible with just two computers but if there is minimal soldering and circuitry I would be down. any ideas?
