pretty sure lilykill has files on myminifactory

>> No.1339726 [View]

I had the files commissioned by a 3d designer with very specific dimensions to my design. unfortunately this was prior to me having my own printer and do not have the files myself. have you not been able to find the files online on websites like thingiverse?

Hi Anon, I've now made 20 functioning pipboys and they have all been printed from PLA. I've only had one or two come back for repairs to the internals and one slight breakage in the last 4 years.

Not sure if this makes the cut. I find it aesthetically pleasing.

Here's the internals so far. Using ultrasonic misting units to atomize the chemicals and using a positive pressure reservoir blow the mist over the 3D print

Heya /diy/ long time since posting...
I've started building a 3D print smoothing machine that has two reservoirs, one for acetone (for smoothing ABS) and the other for Dichloromethane (for PLA) that is swappable depending on what material the print is made from. automated with a revolving bed (stepper controlled) and timer. it's still in the semi-planning stages on how I lay the internals out. here's a few pics of what I have so far

>using mostly recycled components to cut costs.

I'll post more pics as I proceed with the build.

you are missing the point...

I started out just like OP 15 years ago, building crappy things. it has taken me 15 years of practice on-and-off to get the sort of finish and detail I'm currently making. so the underlying point is keep practising.

I'll be building this later in the year closer to christmas. this is my design and concept art for it

>> No.959494 [View]

You'd be better off shaping it as a sort of bevel belly cut, then removing soo much wood.

especially with a bass guitar you want as much timber to resonate the lower frequencies.

>> No.959493 [View]

Would love to follow you on facebook mate. tubes have always facinated me, and at one point considered building my own untill I saw how complex it is to start up.

>> No.952558 [View]

the tubing idea must work, as they made similar suits up for the Martian movie to keep the actors cool. I just built one and works well

problem is when actors start running around with 100-200v in props it becomes a pretty big safety hazard

>> No.951463 [View]

Man I wish there was such a thing as a low voltage nixie tube. I've looked everywhere but I'd say it's limited to physics of the type of display it is.

oh true!, I spose there's always room for refinement after it's functional...

So here's a little something special I had made up for it. It's a bezel for the EM84 magic eye, 3D printed in mild steel and gold plated.
