I don't really see how I'm being a cunt. I searched the catalog for threads on arcade cabs and found this one. I only had a couple pictures to post so I didn't see it requiring its own thread.

This is what I was thinking, build up a little bit of a frame for the door on the inside of the panel.

Hijacking your thread a bit here dude. Didn't want to make my own.

I've made a bit of progress with my own cabinet here and wanted to show it off a little.

Gonna wire the IR reciever of the TV to the gpio of the raspi and use a startup shell script to navigate to the right channel.

That should read made.

Anyway as far as compromises go, now there is a CRT as the screen and I had to replan the control deck.

The shelf inside had to be modified to fit the TV, but now its snug as.

Thats a nice looking cabinet! How often does an issue arise where you have to access the internals? I think I should have a door or two but idk

Also pictured here is the amplifier (kit), speakers and the mounting for the lights (salvaged cupboard lights)

>You sure you aren't building this for yourself? Just buy her a barbie man.

I asked my eldest daughter which she prefers, videogames or barbies, she told me she likes both in equally. My youngest daughter likes Ben10 and Ninja Turtles far more than Barbies and baby dolls. Kids like what they like mang, it's not a bad thing.

It's solid enough that I have trouble tipping it.

I mounted most of the electricals today, last bit is the lights for the marquee then I can finish assembling it. Pictured here is a powerboard.

Last one.

I played some Mario on it for a bit, still needs more configuration but overall I'm happy with the progress.

Second last pic~

I put most of the parts in at this point. I'm using a different monitor for the moment because the HDMI-VGA converter hasn't arrived yet. This is so I can configure the software and have all parts ready for when it does arrive.
