You know what would actually work pretty well, (but I don't know how good it would look in the end) is you get a couple of comp towers. Maybe some of those with LED lighting, and a piece of glass for the top. as for including BME... no idea how to do that as a coffee table fixture.

I just think the engine would look good. (ME talking)

This.

You may hate the idea as it will weigh a metric fuck ton.

Adam Savage (MB dude) did this at (I think it was San Diego) Comic Con. The mask itself looks like it's got some heft like it's resin or something a little more substantial than paper mache.

You can easily make a mold for resin out of paper, and as for resin just grab a $20 can (the HUGE one) of bondo at an auto parts store.

Link with tons of pics here. http://whatsnext.blogs.cnn.com/2011/07/23/adamincognito-2011-lasted-for-30-minutes/

Good luck, I'd like to see how it turns out! There might be more details on a good build of this at the RPF.

I got a Czech gas mask for $10 on Cheaper than dirt. Looks pretty similar, although it looks more like the combine masks from half life.

OP, I was JUST thinking about this. You made my day.

gotta say, my fave ep has to be the catapult one from (I think it was 1st or 2nd season) I just know that when ever I see a rerun it's always that ep.

Let me guess, Civil?
You wouldn't happen to be at WYDOT would you?

>> No.27776 [View]

it LOOKS like it will work. Probably going to be trial and error with the nitpicky stuff though. Good luck

Man I wish I knew. But they make project boxes for this sort of thing you can get at radio-shack.

Wish I could help more dude.

no.

http://botmill.com/index.php/glider.html for a little less than $100 more you can get a bigger build area. Both are cheaper if you buy disassembled anyway.

Spy from Tf2.

Suit, gloves and a ski mask. Shit's done. for added kick, I got a 8 dollar cap gun from walmart.

>>27707 hey whatever floats your boat. I didn't even know about revit until you mentioned it. Tis the problem with having a degree in only one program. They all do generally the same thing, yet are all quite different. Good luck!

this sounds suspiciously like that home made toaster idea.

The pics are crappy quality because it's off a cellphone camera that went through a time machine from the past into the present. That phone has since been replaced.

Here's the file ( http://grabcad.com/library/portal-turret ) and here's a view of the base.

>>26111 I fixed one of these, (Dimension 7** SST) when a voltage regulator burned out on the power supply. Not a fun fix. (also the company loves to give you the runaround)

I looked into getting a reprap, it seems better than a makerbot personally, but I wish there was an easy way to just do a custom build area.

If anyone's made anything particularly awesome, can we get pics? please?

in return....

here's a Portal Turret I printed out. You can find the file I used on grabcad (they have .stls of it)

You can fully annotate Autocad with what you need (and one of the advanced options is to export the material data to excel for easy price evaluation)

>> No.27694 [View]

You can get 30 day trials of every autodesk product from their site, and if you have a .edu email you can get a year long trial of them until the next version is out. Repeat ad infinium.

What it sounds like you want to use is Autocad, but probably something a little easier to work with.

Macguyver. Hands down.

Maybe Wallace, but that's pushing it.

I never go anywhere without a knife. And my jeep has one of everything. including:

Gaff tape
Oil
(2) MRE's
40' 300 pound rope
20x20 tarp
a bolted jerry can full of emergency gas
a hatchet
measuring tape

and of course the ONE thing everyone needs

the pocket ref.

that IS the catch. but no, I linked it because I saw that he mentioned a little bit of a parts list as well as included pictures which, while not perfect, can at least get you in the right direction

only thing I could find that was relevant to "homeswinger" hope it helps http://www.hypercustom.com/workshophomeswinger.html

Intriguing, but no idea. I worked at NDH power which manufactures both Ethanol and Hydrogen fuel cells but the only thing that seems relevant (barely) is that they had carbon sheets coated to 60% hydrophobia.Probably doesn't help.

Good luck with this, I would love to see more data on this.
