Not him, but I live in Florida and we do this. Had one get out of control and wound up in the local paper after the fire department, department of forestry, and sheriff's department showed up. Pretty sure the power company got involved as well. Shit was fire

Dipped, but not for all the reasons posted here already. Because it's far more chemical/oil/solvent resistant. That's in fact why they offer the option, and why many oilfield and mechanics tools only come dipped. That thermocast plastic shit turns to goose shit when it gets solvent or oil on it.

PCD fiber cement blade in an angle grinder or joint chaser. Trick is you gotta REALLY be soft on the sides cuz it'll blow the teeth off quick if you push into the concrete.

Alternatively grind a small jackhammer bit to the joint width and make it as sharp as a knife. Run it into the groove and you'll pop out small chunks if you don't just shove it super deep.

No matter how you do bitumen is shit to deal with. Best method is burn down all the suppliers storage yards. Shit burn HOT yo!

This thread is full of so much wrong it's not funny.

Single component caulking is to multicomponent jacking compound what a hammer drill is to a boring rig. Don't waste your time on this ffs.

Poly is expensive, look for a local mudjacking company that uses good ole grout. It's more than fine for a driveway, and a lot cheaper. If you can figure out a way to build a DIY grout pump then you can just use high flow grout (same as used for post-tensioning cable pockets). This is a perfectly legitimate solution as mudjacking has been proven effective for like 100 years.

This is basically the proper solution, and make sure this time to get proper compaction of your footing with the right material and edge grading so it doesn't erode.
