No pictures, but my next project will be light-up wind chimes.

When the knocker hits the chime tube it completes a circuit and a light inside that chime blinks on for an instant.

I started off with raw leather, but decided I liked the biker/BDSM/fetish look more than the Steampunk/Wild West look.

I must say, I'm pleased with the results.

Depends on local laws, but most US states use 50cc as the cut off.

I'm currently helping a friend build up a '76 Nishiki frame.

I'll take pics and post....eventually.

Price is decent, most real riders don't like fixed gear. Single speed is legit if you want, 1:3 ratio is smart.

Get rid of the drop handles and the lame seat. Put new bearings and races in the bottom bracket, may need new hubs and wheels.

If you have a used bike shop or a co-op or something you can probably make a rad bike for $50 or less.

Smartest post I've read on /diy/ in a while.

I realize this is /diy/ and all, but why not just load actual bullets?

You can get surplus ammo to fill that belt for about....$25.

Or you can lathe a blank, make a cast, mold the slugs, build a jig to press them, spend 20 hours doing it, all for about $150, and they still won't fire.

I admire the tenacity, but seriously.... it's just not smart.

That's not the original image, but my version after I cleaned it up and compressed it.

I'm so happy!

Anyhow, I'm going to go to lunch then dump info on whatever people ask for while I'm gone.

Hey, /diy/ I have some natural/undyed saddle leather that I want to stain black.

Is regular Kiwi Shoe Polish good for this? Or is there another product?

What do I do to prep/finish the leather once I dye it?

I've slowly been going through mine converting to JPG (I used the "tag" option to list what it's about)
The PNG files I typically convert to use tags, and to save HD space.
I also go through them one by one to search for larger/higher resolution images.

Anyhow, I also have about 75 gig of PDFs and videos. Mainly Millitary, PMJB, and Anarchis Cookbook type stuff. Pic is of what I keep on my HD after I deleted all the bullshit I didn't want.

I'd be willing to throw them all up on a fileserver if anybody has one.

Cheap hacksaw blades broken into thirds; use pic as template.

There are many boombox tutorials online.

I've seen them mounted on military ALICE frames (they provide a good surface to mount to)

These are some guys that do it at Dragon*Con every year.

PS I have no problem forcing the world to listen to my shitty music.

The best for old leather.

Propane torch or even small butane torch?

2nd hand stores often sell creme brule sets that have small hand torches (great for all kinds of projects)

I used to build BMX bikes, now I'm more into commuters and street bikes.

Currently riding an old Specialized Allez steel frame.
Straight bar, single speed.
It love me long time.

(Also, fixed gear faggots are the cancer of the biking community)

It would probably make it dangerous to enter or egress the tank, but crew inside should be fine.

May mess up some of the internal electronics.

I don't like this version of the file.
It got all ugly when I compressed it.

I've tried growing it before in Nebraska, and I think without snow covering it it was too exposed.

I'd imagine Southern California is WAY too hot/dry unless you're up in the mountains.

I honestly don't know much about it.
I pretended to be satanic when I was 15 and thought it would piss people off, but I never got much into the occult.

I do like esoteric societies like the freemasons, order of Thule, Teutonic Order, shit like that. But mostly they're just funny to watch Ivory Tower douchebags debate about them running the world or some other such nonsense on the History channel.
