Or a generator and the Bauer

I was reading the reviews on some Ridgid cordless tool a few days ago and it was literally like 100 posts asking for the bandsaw and the official Ridgid profile was like “No bandsaw is in the works, but we will pass it on to our team” or some corporate BS like that. I was waiting for Ridgid to come out with a more powerful 1/2” impact for months thinking maybe they would have an Octane model bigger than the Gen5X, then I saw the ad for the “New Octane Impact Wrench!” and was pulling out my debit card and then saw it’s the exact same tool except they had the tool ready before the Octane batteries so they slapped a Gen5X plate on it and changed it to Octane logos once the batteries were in all the stores.

I like my Ridgid stuff but the selection is the one reason I might end up regretting it. At the very least might have to get the M18 Fuel impact wrench and bandsaw and a couple batteries to ride along with all the Orange.

Cool. What is it made of besides wood? Where did the metal bits come from?

>>1624253
They didn’t keep up with the times enough I think. Like their basic screwdrivers, how long did it take them to come out with the TPR grip and diamond tip drivers. The Craftsman Pro brand was really nice and pretty much on par with the tool trucks but they didn’t keep it around long enough. Would be awesome to see Stanley revive that but they will never do it because of their other brands. At least SB&D Craftsman is bringing stuff back to US factories.

Fun fact: I have a Craftsman Pro hack saw from probably mid or early 00’s and it’s a rebranded Bahco made in Sweden, and the Snap On hacksaw in their catalog is the exact same thing.

I was thinking that too, especially if that spring is some sort of suspension. Those sensors are all over the place, especially if anon is in the PNW. Or something for sound? Temp too but that would be less complicated or tied to a weather station.

I’m surprised no part number on there.

Also at $1.50 per spoke... just buy a pack of your own for a few bucks. But you have to know the measurement. If your old hub is the same dimensions and spoke count as the new one, take lots of pics and take note of which way the spokes cross and you can give it a shot yourself. There’s a few different patterns that they lace wheels so if you figure that out and get the correct spokes, build it and if anything bring it to the bike shop for them to true it up after you build it.

Wheel building is kind of an art if you watch videos of dudes doing it.

Oh, you don’t have the spokes yet? Is the hub the same size and spoke count as the old one?

I mean this is probably true. But I would say that three quarters of people who are sitting at home at 11am on a Wednesday and are bored enough to come out and talk to OP marking utilities (when they know they are going to have work done) are most definitely retarded.

Or you’re talking about building the wheel and you have the spokes and rims? Lace, not thread.

You gotta google that wheel or spoke count and find a video that shows the steps so you can go in order. If you have all the parts, a bike shop might do it for pretty cheap. It’s a pain to lace up a wheel and true it with no experience, especially if it’s something you will be hauling ass on.

Why would you thread them? It has the holes in that pic, there aren’t any threads on the hub end. The slide through the hub first and are threaded on the rim side.

Nice light bro. My new favorite light for working under the car is pic related. A couple of 12v LEDs like you would see on the back of a tow truck or work vehicle powered by the old lead acid battery from my scooter or a 12v power supply that came from a cable box I think. Bright as hell but not super focused. Great area light though considering I can swivel and tilt the two lights.

>>1624075
You’re would have to mess with the lens shape or reflector though, I don’t see how you could do that at home and have it actually last. Find acrylic sheets and bend them to your liking with some heat? Curious to see what people suggest.

Nah they fall off too easily and you have to use 2 hooks for each wrench.

Why?

Meh, at least the majority of my Craftsman is US-Made. Those torque wrenches were one of the things that were pretty solid when they were US made and the newer Chinese design is like $30-$40 and everybody says the cheap plastic parts break.

Is that 24V or is it their big 40V or whatever battery?

If that’s on a 24V, that’s not so bad. I like how Milwaukee is running all their big shit on the same batteries, and DeWalt you might need a Flexvolt but you can still run it on your drill. One battery sucks when doing work, you gotta have two if you’re doing a project like mowing and edging and blowing, and that sucks being $500 deep in batteries alone for 2 or 3 tools.

That’s not the point, like HF with their lifetime warranty. That shit is useless if the wobble extension snaps every time I try to loosen a nut with it.

When was the last time you ever used any Ridgid power tools? I haven’t heard any real complaints on the Gen5 or Octane stuff. Even the reviewers are like “I didn’t want to like it so much because it isn’t Milwaukee or DeWalt, but Ridgid stepped up.”

>>1623650
Kek, all the Ridgid Q&As are full of people asking for a band saw. I wouldn’t be surprised if they have some deal not to compete with Milwaukee on tools like that.

No, there’s a bunch of 1/4” hex drivers and 1/2” drills. Then 1/2” mid torque and 1/2” Fuel mid torque for no real reason other than they still need to sell off some leftover brushed models.
