They’re sort of for a different purpose. The handheld guys are better for screws and shit where you want that pressure into the head plus a shock. Breaker bar does better with nuts and bolts where you don’t have to worry about the thing camming out. They’re not too bad for extractor sockets though, hammering in gets a good bite but the torque isn’t going to be like a 24” breaker bar plus body weight or hammer.

I didn’t buy that one at least.

My mom was trying to get me Airpods for Xmas and I told her I’m going to break the things within a week at work and she should give them to my sister who mentioned she wanted them a couple weeks earlier. I told her if she wants to get me something I will actually use, get an 18V leaf blower since it’s half the cost of Airpods. But then somehow she brought up the pressure washer and I wouldn’t let her spend $400 on a gas one and this was on sale plus they sold the surface cleaner for it. The PSI rating is pretty good for an electric guy so we’ll see what happens.

Just get a decibel meter and move a stereo around the place and see where the noise is getting through.

Or a seismograph.

Not a bad idea though, maybe I can scoop one of those from a shitty restaurant and get ‘er filled at the local knockoff fountain soda distributor.

Oooh there’s a couple good ones in there. The magnetic strips are dope and you can cut them down to whatever size or just rip out the ~2” long magnets for whatever you want. Pic related, and my tool cart is mag’d out.

6” dish is a good one too if you don’t already have a dozen of them lying around.

Oi that’s looks like one of my jobs.

Flux!
Good leaded solder!

Also then there is solder paste and hot air guns for SMD stuff, but that’s beyond my current level, kinda my next step.

This is why I learned to solder on old useless stuff and not something important.

Hmm... there’s a handful on Amazon for $40-$45 shipped. I’m sure I could find cheaper on Ebay or Ali, bur Amazon is too easy. It’s something to think about, but I’ll probably end up with something like this >>1567626 because of the good reviews and extra heating element and lots of tips. I went back and forth on those Txx things and all of the programmable features don’t really appeal to me, the main reason I would want one is to build something to run it off a drill battery. And if the soldering iron on the all in one thing leaves me wanting more even with good tips, then I get a Hakko for $100.

That was an option too, but people seem to say that these stations are decent and lots of them support Hakko tips and are almost as good once you do that. It’s only like $20 more to get the soldering iron in addition to the hot air, so if it sucks and I still want the Hakko or T## after, it’s no loss.

I still have yet to plug in this Weller that I bought months and months ago, that’s the medium duty one for like $25 from Home Depot. I wanted to abuse the shit out of the $4 iron and learn what I’m doing first.

I don’t know who I feel worse for, the dog or your former boss’s 4 year old daughter who walked in the room and witnessed it. Hell, the bossman probably had it worst of all when his daughter came to him and asked “Papa what was that man with no pants on doing to Chester?”

Those old ass cars are basic as fuck. Henry Ford’s line built them in like an hour with early 20th century tech. What the fuck is wrong with you? No wonder why nobody will employ you. Also that thing about your former boss’s dog, everybody in town knows and that’s definitely a factor when they see your applications.

It would be so easy to snag a couple from work, but they would greatly frown upon stealing safety equipment. I mostly didn’t even know where to buy the damn things.

>>1567294
Which is why I bought some 6-ton double locking jack stands from a different store. Those 3-Ton jacks are a standby though, even the most paranoid people buy them and will swap out some Chinesium hardware for Grade 8 stuff and get years out of it.
