I soaked the blades in a rust remover bath and then used a brass bruss and some 120 grit sand paper to give them their former shine back. Before pic:

Here's a few pictures of my great grandfather's antique hand planes. I restored them almost to their former glory, still need to work on the Stanley #16 and #4 also I need to sharpen the blades on some whet stones I bought off amazon.

Just because my wood stove doesn't look like a brand new iPhone doesn't mean a baby could do this. I built a hot tent for $80 instead of buying one for $1000, I know I'm throwing pearls at swine but that's why its funny to me.

It doesn't hog oxygen, oxygen is plentiful in the atmosphere, it actually uses very little oxygen when its going and hot. Oxygen can still pass through the heavy duty tarp, it is water proof but not air proof

Actually I did think of adding a bolt for easier range of motion but yeah it would get extremely hot but my leather gloves seem to work well enough so it wouldn't be that much of a problem, its a good suggestion. I just did this pretty quick cuz the snow is melting and I wanted to use it before summer starts and I'm really good at being lazy even when I'm being proactive. Thanks for the constructive criticism

It's worth it for the people who live in the north, it can save your life. Climate change doesn't only warm the planet it makes weather more extreme at times, extreme cold and extreme heat.
The concept is easy and can be replicated by anyone with half a brain. Just make sure you use steel, it gets very hot.

Yes you understand, some smoke does come into the tent usually when im just starting the fire, completely harmless. The heat rises with smoke and there is a small flap at the top of the tarp that allows the smoke to escape.

Once the thing is cooking and red hot there is virtually no smoke in the tent. And when I go to sleep I close the small door and it goes out in 15 mins or so due to the lack of oxygen And yes, it drafts excellently :)

also you don't need to pay anyone to teach you anything, just teach yourself, look at youtube and read some books, its easy if you just go out and do it.

Honestly just do what im doing and get a tent, go out to the woods and build a log cabin from dead fall, buy a book on how to build a log cabin and it should include all the tools you'll need.

My ancestors built log cabins with only an axe so you keep that in mind and don't over due buying every tool you can think of.

My main advice for you is to JUST DO IT, stop talking and thinking about and just get out there and start building, also remember to have fun, it's not a chore if its your passion

I guess I have to become a scientist for all u newbz, when you burn a piece of wood in a wood stove it first creates CO (carbon monoxide). It is usually in the smoke you see along with the h2o and hydrogen molecules.

Once the stove becomes hot enough the heat actually burns the carbon monoxide, hydrogen, methane, h2o, etc. And the smoke isn't getting into my tent its going through my chimney + it is really hot and efficient burning everything up. The chances of me dying from CO is very low.

Thanks,

Actually I was planning on bringing this way up north to uncharted lands to build my own log cabin deep in the forest, this tent will help immeasurably.

And most natives live western secular lives now in their own sketchy communities called Indian reserves. They don't live like their ancestors anymore.
