Nothing makes me madder than this; a person with no experience in electronics asking how to do something that typically takes a couple months/years to learn.

If its obvious then I just don't give a fuck and move on. But what kills me is when they don't reveal immediately that they know nothing. So you type out a carefully worded helpful response and then it turns out to be pointless and I just wasted my precious time I could have wasted on something else.

It's obscure because it creates comically small amounts of energy.

It's fucking obvious what is happening but what would be the best solution? How should one obtain the supplies. SHIT I DUNNO DISCUSSING THINGS ON THE INTERNET IS ILLEGAL >:(

I would routinely get drunk and wake up and find that I bought a shitload of electronics from ebay. Nothing fancy, usually just a bunch of $1-$3 auctions. Diodes, capacitors, ICs, shit like that.

I've only had good luck. Everything has always been delivered, even if it takes a long time. One time a seller sent me the diodes I ordered twice. I ordered 40 NAND gate ICs from one guy and he sent me 48.

Basically if you want a common diode, capacitor, IC, just get it from eBay.

Sparkfun is a bit pricier but their customer service is amazing.

I ordered a soldering station and the iron was kinda fucked up. The tip didn't screw into the wand properly and would slip when I applied pressure. I e-mailed Sparkfun and they sent me a whole new station without any question for free. A 50 dollar item they replaced without any verification. Love those cats.

That claim is over 50 years old and no real evidence supports this claim. No explanation of the biomechanism, no statistical data to link aluminum exposure to Alzheimer's.

So basically I'm going to make sweet love to a heatsink and I should be fine.

Also for those who didn't pay attention in chemistry:

Water is sometimes written as HOH to denote that water can be expressed chemically as a hydrogen atom bonded to a hydroxide molecule.

HHO is a made-up molecule that uses a made-up chemical bond to create some kind of new wacky H2O molecule that can be used for fuel.

Tesla and Bardeen are both good options for Lord of /diy/.

I personally worship Erdős but I try to be tolerant of other people's views.

Seriously dude logism is a free program tht can run on most platforms and it is 20 times nicer than that weird toy-looking motherfucker you got there.

Check my circuit out. Doesn't it look nice? Shit takes like 10 minutes to lean and is intuitive as FUCK.

What I am trying to say is you get mad pussy when you use this program.

I don't have the full details of your project but if all you really need to do is fuck around with some LEDs then you could just bitbang the fuck outta those LEDs and it would hardly be any more complicated than using PWM.

>> No.312968 [View]

Bitbang. Bitbang the fuck out of everything. That's my motto for microcontroller antics.

Law of the internet #4: if it exists, someone somewhere will be a huge elitist prick about it and they would love to tell you all about their views.

Use an interrupt. Set the proper pin to interrupt on a rising edge so it will count the period of the 5V square wave. Then just code in some math and shit and you are done.

I am super jelly. The stores around here won't do that, and I guarantee it is because of those asshole kids who break the light bulb and use them as "tasers." Fucking kids.

>> No.291555 [View]

I've heard of more than just a few people doing this (properly) and having it work just fine.

Around here the best way to spot a scam is one that asks you to submit all your personal information. You know, like those phishing scams:

"Please send us your e-mail, your date of birth, your social security, a list of turn-ons and turn-offs, your biggest fears (real), your biggest fears (existential), your killphrase, and a picture of you in a seductive pose; but one that would make it into a PG-13 movie."

Anyone that asks for too much information is always trying to scam you. This is generally true everywhere.

Get 1000 of them. Coat your walls with them. Protoype circuits on your walls as a form of autistic artwork.

I understand you are excited but if you were to read more than a couple sentences you'd read this:

"The design of the Stellaris LaunchPad highlights the LM4F120H5QR microcontroller with a USB 2.0 device interface and hibernation module."

You could have also clicked the datasheet and read about it where it will answer all the questions you'll ever have.

The fun never ends when you are knee-deep in random electronics.

>> No.285806 [View]

I have never heard of it.
I don't know what it does.
I don't know what I will do with it.
I don't know how to get it to work.

But I'm still gonna order two.

But the rest of it man. Shitty rocker switch, low grade tubing, and probably fairly basic electronics in that thing. Even if the plastic cost $1000 if the rest of the shit in there costs $3000 to make then I have the wrong life plan and need to switch career paths.

>> No.284180 [View]

I'm honestly mostly interested in how that dingy motherfucker that hooks up to a "slightly modified" water bottle costs $4000 dollars.
