So guys, I'm going to finish this day and this thread off by saying thanks for your advice, I've learned great t-shirt stenciling techniques today.
And I hope I could be helpful. Looking forward to chat some more.

I'll probaby start/join a stencil thread next week and post pics of the finished tee.
Goodnight ♥

Yeah see, THAT'S what I was screaming out in all of my previous posts.
There are a lot of motherfucking islands in there. You know what an island is?

Now assume you have cut this stencil out and want to spray it onto a white wall.
You want your stencil to be correct. But you left places that are supposed to stay white in the middle of the black WITHOUT ANY CONNECTION TO THE ACTUAL CARDBOARD YOU'RE USING.
So think of this: If you cut the black all around the white spot out, the white which was in the black will disappear, fall away with the black.
look at my pic to understand

It was in sync with the rythm but fucking youtube was mad about the pirated song so I had to change it. but you couldn't know that so I'm not gonna say shit

You're lucky I checked /diy/ again before going to bed.

You ALWAYS start with the lighter colors first. That means from white to black. If you attempt to spray white on black, the black will pretty much "eat" the white.

Check out this
>pic
And then this
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UKccW3onMQE

As you can see, the wall I was spraying on is kind of grey-ish. Now if I attempted to spray green/gray/whatever, the color would look darker, because of the surface. If the surface you're using is dark, you can expect your final product to be darker than your actual colors are. That's why I sprayed white in the background in that vid.

Feel free to ask me anytime you see my trip :)

you should also scale the image up quite a bit (the mouth, eyes etc are way(!) too small to work with. If you attempted to print this, it'd take up a quarter of the A4 at best (printing the image you posted in it's original size).

Scaling it up would make a lot of things easier - and harder. because you would be able to see how to work with eg. the mouth - would, if it wouldn't be pixelated as hell.

But you're using the right effects so far. Try cutting some of the layers in half so that it will be possible to achieve this pic with several layers of stencils.
Then again that's why I prefer properly bridged stencils. you just need one piece of card. Except for multi-colored pieces of course.

Anyway I'd love to stay and explore /diy/ further but I have to do homework now. Good night/day fellow /diy/fags!

Just came back from dinner to check on the thread.
Dude. You can't do shit with that. Just look at the hair, wayy to many islands. lrn2bridge

unless you post the white layer that may be sprayed on top of the black one (which is a really bad thing to do), this fails pretty hard.

You could however do some simple bridges right now so that when cutting it out you can have at least an idea of how you should cut.

Sorry I'm being slow, I have a steak on the plate and a hungry stomach..

And on the image splitting thing: there's an awesome program I've been usin since a year or so that's called "rasterbator". It's free, fast and gets the job done. Just download and see for yourself.

What I should mention is I'm a perfectionist.. I always spend more time correcting little mistakes than on the actual piece :/

And I've been using the pen tool for 2 months now. But I guess you could say I'm a fast learner

Just sometimes walking into the kitchen for a snack and checking/replying in the thread. I'm about 90% done now.

If you don't have ANY experience on the pen tool however, it will logically take longer for you.
You might want to look into inkscape. It's an easier to use program than photoshop and it's free. I'm not using it because I'm way too used to ps and Inkscape keept irritating the fuck outta me.

Excuse my English. What do you mean by "dropping" the pic? Cancelling it? Even if you don't want it I'mma finish it. The girl's too hot not to

You must know, I hate to see when people put their tags over art that doesn't belong to them..

You think that'd happen?
I guess not, but when someone does it and the bike actually IS a pipebomb.. then they might freak pretty easily

Thanks for the stencils dude

>>4786
Chill and don't tell people to tag. Tagging is for faggots. I (and many others) would rather see art on the walls than trash. There's too many "fuck" and "hi" garbage already, better not contribute to this crap.

If you tag to a piece you've sprayed, however, I have nothing against that although personally I don't.

Refer to this

And from what I've heard it's okay to use. Someone who did multi-layered and -colored shirts (I've seen a few finished ones) said he used acryl based paint and did the painting with an airbrush.
Basically I want to use an airbrush because it's much cheaper to buy acrylic paint for 2€ and get a liter/more out of it than buying 400 ml spraypaint for 4€. But I'll try both and share results whenever one should ask.

>>4029
This already is a stencil. I don't know what you mean by 'converting'
If you want to put it on a shirt, do this:

1) Get a white 100% cotton tee. No questions, just use it. You may use other kinds/colors later
2) Buy black spray paint (buy from a graffiti/art store. Hardware stores usually sell overpriced)
3) Print the image of the lady out
4) Use a utility knife/exacto to cut the black parts of the image off the paper. There should be space instead of the black spots now.
5) put your finished paper over the tee and spray over the spaces in the paper.
6) look at the final product

This is a very basic and very easy form of doing it. But just go ahead and try it, it'll give you a basic idea of what is good to do and what is not. You can spray the shirt until there's no space left/the can is empty. Now practice, and please make nice stuff.

And always lurk moar
