do they look like springtails
if they do then there just part of the ecosystem of the vivarium

and if you'd like to know how i set up the time lapse i just google "free webcam time lapse software" it will be the first result then get a cheep HD webcam ( i used the logitech c270)

if you get a tank with a lid what you do what i did in the pic

I have gravel in my set up just to keep the soil off the bottom of the tank, add some extra retaining area so i have to add water far less often since its a partly closed system now

>its totally worth it

hmm i don't know, with mine i give it 12-16 hours of light from a "daylight" bulb (34W CFL) is it consistently moist, how large is the container?
it also might take a while mines been in its encloser for 2 months and it just started to spread like a week ago, (but its slow as mosses tend to be)

just give it more time, if its still green and not dieing you should be fine

up date
i got the fan integrated into the lid and added a switch to turn it on and off
i also skewed the web cam into the bottom of the lid, also the led is a lot dimmer then it was before, Guessing that's a sigh that the 560 Ω was much for it but oh well
