Can't say I know how, but I'd make a thread on /cgl/ as well as this one. This kind of thing is right up their alley.

Take out all the pieces and glue them on to a spandex suit. Become 360 man. Or, you know, play them, or something.

Or you could gut them and just keep the casing, then remove the front panel and put some hinges on it and use it for storage. You could have the power button open it up.

A couple people so far have said Lego. I'd do that. Looks pretty cool, and I'm sure you could use whatever your favorite piece is alright (You know you have a favorite piece, that one piece you put on EVERYTHING for one reason or another, yeah that one)

I've thought of putting curtains around it but it would get too hot. I live in Texas and during the summer if my PC is on it heats up my room a good 10 degrees alone. I am considering mounting some small fans to the bottom of the bed though and doing this. Maybe using plywood instead of curtains though to keep out more light, and then using the fans to circulate air with two holes for it to flow in and out.

I also raised it up about 6 inches as you can see in the picture. Looks weren't an issue, so that made it even easier.

The only thing annoying about it is you can't really move too much, and obviously there's no possibility of having sex on it. It's good for a bachelor pad or if you're that guy who always has sex in his car. You'll figure something out in that department eventually.

OP I'm currently using a loft bed, only, it wasn't really a loft bed. My room doesn't have a whole lot of floor room and it also doesn't have a very high ceiling. All the beds I looked at at Ikea were too high so I ended up just getting a bunk bed and removing the bottom bunk. It really wasn't hard, I just had to make sure it was strong enough to support me (it is). They're really useful in small rooms or apartments.

I'd recommend tossing a few extra boards connecting the legs if you think it's not strong enough.

I'd imagine it would be very easy. Just make sure you get something to secure the sides to the top like pic related. Not sure about the type of wood though. You could probably ask someone at Home Depot about that though.

OP you probably need one of those little holes that fountain pens have in the tip. This allows it to hold in and lets it flow down to the tip so you don't have to dip so often. You could probably do it pretty easily with just a needle

To each their own. I have nothing against them. Either way, like I said, it was meant as an observation, not to berate them. I should have said they were dressed like a typical Austinite instead of hipster I suppose, since almost half of the people here dress exactly like that.

The line between hipster and hippie gets blurred a lot here in Austin (I live here), I was right about it though. Nothing wrong with being hippie/hipster or being from Austin. Just an observation.

Disregard that second part. 45kg is only 100lbs. That's not that much. You should be fine

If you're not worried about looks you could definitely make it strong enough. But if you have any doubts about it take this guys advice
>>115950
It's not worth the whole thing crashing down if it's not strong enough. If the table you're planning on putting it on is like the one in the picture I would make sure it's strong enough to support that weight before even considering raising it.

You could also do something similar to this
>>115933
Only cut a piece out so it's harder to notice.

Those aren't hinges, Those are L brackets, they're a bit stronger. I don't weight too much but they support me alright.

I raised my bed up about 6 inches a few months back. It doesn't look to amazing or anything, but it gets the job done. I'm sure you could find wood that matches better or is more similar in size if you wanted to.

If I did happen to become homeless, I think I would set my "base of operations" around a library, that way I could spend most of my time in there expanding my knowledge. I would also shell out applications everywhere for a job. As for bathing, once I had a job I would try and get a cheap $10 a month gym membership and use their showers. As for shelter, dunno, i'd find an abandoned building or enclosed area somewhere.
I'd try and get a bike too for mobility

I'm willing to put money that they're from Austin. Shit looks cozy though.

I'm not personally homeless, but what about oats? I've been eating straight oats and water for about 2 meals each day because it's quick, easy to make, and one of those barrels of Quaker oats costs about $3, which lasts about 7ish full meals for me. Not sure exactly what the vitamin/mineral count is, but I know oats aren't bad for you at least.

They taste great with just water too. They have a natural flavor, especially when it's ice cold water.
