hah good point i didnt even think of what year his vehicle was, ill give you that one. also missed the part where spark plugs temporarily fixed the problem. that makes things really interesting

could it not be overfueling in a couple cylinders? fouling the plugs after a short time? this would explain the gas smell.

then again a straight up no spark condition will also cause gas smell due to unburned fuel.

so which is it

no spark or overfueling then fouling plugs? multiple injectors failing at once isnt too uncommon of a scenario

anyways unrealistic brainstorm jerklecirc aside my final answer is once he throws in a new seal he'll be off like a foreish jewskin

>Yes, the leaky camshaft seal

doesnt this classify as a bit more than a leaky seal, because the seal is literally gone and replaced with cardboard?

i think OP answered his own question though:

>My question is whether replacing this seal will stop the car shaking, smoking, etc?
>smoking, etc?

>When he replaced it with a piece of cloth, fitting snugly around, the dark, stinky smoke that had been exhausting from the pipe, suddenly stopped.
>suddenly stopped.
>stopped.

obviously never diagnosed any of the electrical systems on a piece of equipment. or hydraulic. or engine arrangement.

besides, i work on commercial transport, agricultural, and everything else inbetween. yes including your beloved lawn mowers.

lifes gonna suck pretty bad if you dont get over feeling like tac welding a popcan for some 70 year old and taking a flapper wheel to your moms lawnmowers head is the holy grail of all careers

again, this is common knowledge and if you had even the slightest idea if how a carb worked you would agree.

as the fuel level drops, the mixture leans out. less fuel, same amount of air = leaner. youve honeslty never ran a bike dry? theyll go apeshit sometimes they wont even shut off unless you dump the clutch to stall it out. your posts contradict your alledged experience. you're probably some 19 year old who just finished welding school

10 years experience working with two strokes and you dont consider the rings/jug to be a likely cause of his problems?

how does a dirty carb cause him to burn oil? 2 strokes are literally the simplest motors to troubleshoot. he cleaned his carb already, sure its possible he fucked it up but unlikely.

he ran it dry on fuel, i cant think of something harder on the rings/jug. 10 years and youve never heard this?

youre a complete joke and have no business offering advice other than how to get it on with your bosses dog

heres the c-frame and blade assembly from a d6k. lack of grease caused the c-frame bushings to sieze, break off the keepers, and work their way out.

removed, built up with weld, line bored. press in new bushings. reassemble using new pins as well.

not to mention you should never run a 2 stroke dry as this causes an excessively lean condition, which will also cook your rings

yea lets just ignore half his post.

uses quite a bit of oil + hard cold starting

low compression = rings
burning oil = rings
