google says ferric chloride has a couple year shelf life.

don't use fiberglass unless you're heavy or like a stiff board. also i would worry that because the two substances flex differently that they'd break apart over time. most of the time when wood is laminated with glass it's not flexing as much as a longboard.

ghetto fix is to drill a couple holes through it and put bolts with big washers on it.

alternatively place a piece of rubber band on it so the screw driver and screw make a rubber band sandwich.

shaping plywood is hard. you need some crazy presses. but i suppose you could try to laminate some wood into a mould as if it were fibreglass.

if you want to do it for the sake of having this crazy thing under your desk i have no idea. but if you're generally curious about how architectures work, look into designing the architecture and emulating it on an FPGA. it's a lot more practical, and gives you a legit skill that few people have.

made a deck out of fiberglass a few years ago. really cool shit.
my bro made a simple trick deck by soaking and bending some plywood we had lying around. the tail only lasted a couple of ollie's though.

building your own legit wood decks seem kinda hard, or at least seems like you need some special presses. but if you're interested in the fiberglass stuff, i lurk in the >>>/diy/ irc chan. my nick is my tripcode.

pls sage and report this shit thread.

i empathise with op but the politicking is just stupid. take it to >>>/pol/

cheers.

it's #diy on irc.rizon.net:6667

don't be shocked if it seems quiet. we're most active during US busniess hours (m-f 9-6 gmt-5)

what kind of budget did you have? how many hours()approx) did they take?

>can you idle in #diy with us :3

oh yeah, are either of them autonomous?

your main problem is going to be powering the 'copter. the motors eat a lot of power. plus with you wanting to carry a camera and enough sensors not to crash into shit, it won't be light either.

nailing old carpets to the wall works decently well. and is cheap as fuck.

made one out of fiberglass once. was a total pain in the ass. stick to plywood. however they have really nice presses 'n stuff to shape them. which you won't have access to.

the only way i know of shaping plywood is soaking the fuck out of it and clamping it into shape. my bro made a trick deck like this. but the tail only lasted like 4 ollie's...

this. midstorms are too simple.

there are robotics kits are are p rad and cheap.

also a really good post on hackaday. not sure there is a link to the schematics, but it'll at least give you ideas.

i had this same thought, and it isn't worth it. the computational power isn't up to par for a beowulf cluster. if broadcom made an OpenCL compiler it might *might* make sense, but they don't so it doesn't.
