Neat. But do my steps sound decent? I've painted an entire car before with good results, I'm only new to painting wood. Also I've cut down the edges on the guitar to make it look moderately not-shitty. It's basically a Strat body now.

Hey /diy/

I'm planning on painting a guitar I have, and I wanted to see if ya'll have any advice or whatnot. I've already sanded the body down to the wood, and my current plan is to use spray paint in the form of automotive lacquer for the primer (2 coats), paint (5ish coats), and clear coat (4ish coats), with 400 grit sanding between coats of primer and paint, and 1500 in between clear coats. This sound like a good plan? Thanks, boo.

Pic related is the guitar in question.

Yeah but rewiring shit is fun.

The tweeters have a built in crossover, broseph. Audio electronics is also my major (kind of), so, uh, sorry for the wasted keystrokes?

Eh, I'd just get a bigger amp.

H/K is life. And who gives a shit about impedance? As long as I don't fry my amp, I don't give a shit how many ohms it is.

>> No.752135 [View]

>>752133
The tweeters are 4W, 4 ohm, the ovals are 21W 3 ohm, and the rounds don't say shit, but I'd guess 20ishW, 4 ohm. Still trying to find info on the amps, though.

The full ranges will handle the mids fine, and some nigger took out just the sub from the Infiniti I got these from. The bass response on the larger cones is pretty decent anyway. Why should the tweeters be useless without a woofer?

Heyo. I went to the junkyard today and came back with six full range speakers, three tweeters, and two amps. Everything's Bose and H/K, so that's good shit (at least the H/K), and I also have four other decent car speakers laying around. What do with all this shit? The obvious answer is make a couple towers, but I have like 3 or 4 of those already. I kinda wanna make a cube with speakers on each side and just have that for shits and giggles. Any ideas, /diy/?

Lookie what I made. It's a 12'' Pioneer powered by a 50 watt car audio amp and an array of eight midrange/tweeters powered by an old 15 watt guitar amp, all filtered out by a car audio crossover powered by eight AAs. Sounds good bruh.

How'd I do?

Man, this guy went all out. Nice thinking, guy, but I don't think it'll work as our pieces have all the natural curvature, and most of them are probably too long for your contraption idea. Would work in other circumstances, though. Props.

Maybe would work.

I dunno, probably like 10 foot sections or something like that. We cut them down immediately though. We can roll them up into like a one foot roll before they get kinked and shitty. It's pretty hardy tubing.

This is an odor management system dude, not a full scale production or something. We use the tubes like pic related.

That glass rod storage seems a bit promising, I'll look into it. There's no standardization at all, so I think we're fucked.

At least I know that I''m not completely retarded for not thinking of something.

They need to continue to be half a foot to two feet.

Alright, here's one for you /diy/. In the business I work for we use an obnoxious amount of plastic tubing, different lengths, different sizes, all the shit. Now, we can't figure out a good way to store it all without it being awful. We basically roll it up and stick it in a trash can and it's just shit. How does keep organized and transport easily?

Thanks boo.

This probably sounds cliche, but I think the best advice is to go out and do it. Look up some basic steps and procedures on ehow or something and read the back of the seed packets and just fucking go to town on that bitch. Won't cost you barely anything, and experience is the most valuable thing ever. Reading about it is nice and could be useful, but knowing how to use that knowledge is just as important as having it.
