Grab a ELM327 from ebay/amazon, they are like 5 bucks shipped,
then jam it in your obd2 port and use torque for android or some other shitty app to read fault codes and datalog the shit out of it.

This way you can check if your MAF, Lambda sensor or tempsensor is fuched

Read the OP again, and if you are just interested in some long range walkie talkies you'd better be off with a baofeng uv-5r handheld radio. you can get one for 30 bucks shipped and can be set up for a range of 20 kliks with a good external antenna on frequencies where there isnt much activity.

>> No.751825 [View]

>>751818

For the frequency those car transmitters are on you can be in quite some trouble. As in 5000 euro fine trouble.

They got to catch you though so if you only send for like a few minutes a day they wont have the time to find you.

If not to heavy and for short times you could use a solenoid

use a scrap sattelite tv dish.

also why would you want to tx radio over several kliks?

If I know a few days in front (aka not often) that I have to weld I just lay a box of weldingrods besides the furnace.
But for short sudden jobs I just have to do with spluttering the first 5 cm on a test piece to heat up the electrode

Damn I do love my Origo 150. Just because its compact as fuck and only uses single phase 230V instead of the multifase 400v one in the workshop. Its as easy to take with you as a angle grinder. which is a big pro if you have stuff to weld all over the place.

I have more often problems with the weldingrods themselve (not stored in a dry room) than with the welder itself

Mindstorms with labview instead of that kiddy program?

I see both beeing used. 2d is still often used because its easy as fuck and you can make em quick.

3d is growing in all fields because it often comes with strength simulation. Also customer tend to like things that look shiny which is done quite easy by running a render

So if i were you i'd initially do some 2d shit but keep your eyes open for 3d because it offers more opportunities

sauce: me old man draws structural shizzle. am a mechanical/electrical engineer myself

2D Autocad or the 3D Inventor (also autodesk)?

2D is quite easy to learn. 3D requires a bit more insight.

Prefer Solidworks myself though.

This is said boat. Was always a bitch to start it because the starter ring gear was worn out and this would mean that the starter wouldnt often engage proper in to the gear.
it would be quite a bitch to replace it (have to move the 2 tonne engine) so that wasnt happening.
Got it to start by pulling out the pinion and push it in the ring gear. Then hold it in place by putting the lip of a beverage can between the gear and the starter itself. This way it would be already engaged in the proper way. and the lip would be just flung away.

Nowadays I just have a small tug with a old fordson tractor engine of 70hp. Use a illegal (because no atis) uv-5r on it for VHF.

Ha nice, I just had a old uniden mc6700 on the tug. Mine was black though

Had to sell the tug because the enine was a bit to thirsty (16,5L MWM 6 cyl w/ 174 hp)

If you have a multimeter check the the powersupply. should give 13.8v

if it does, it might be time to open up the transmitter so we can see what could be broken

>> No.692928 [View]

>>692702

Did you turn on the transmitter itself? usually they have the switch in the volume dial.

if you havent brought stuff yet, grab a 7805. its easyer to use and more robust than the diode construction

Assuming shit for brains level of electrical knowledge

Ok start with using the multimeter on the internal battery to determine the polarity of said battery. And mark the positive pole (because you forget that shit)

Solder one end of the resistor to said pole and the other end to the end of the diode with the black mark. This is your 5.1v point
solder the other end of the diode to the negative pole of the battery.

then strip your usb cable. it has 4 wires, red, black, green and white. the last two are for data but we dont use em here so fuck em. Solder the black one to the negative and the red one to the positive.

slap some tape around to prevent shorts and try to cram all he stuff back in the case.

that should do the trick

Not op but have you cleaned the carb? As I often find the carb as the culprit for bad running/nonrunning engines

Ok the JBL is the best go-loud-with-decent-sound solution, but because it lacks the grilles i'm inching to the pioneer because its complete.
