The water is just going to have gravel and aquarium decorations in it. I meant for the land portion of the tank.

I lost. Just thought I'd let everyone know. So everyone here loves tits and Motley Crue, right?
I'm going to get my food on, and run some errands and we'll see what I can do with this tank.

Once again, I shall go to bed. I'll get some pictures of the tank tomorrow before and after I take a shot at installing that plexiglas. Have fun everybody, try not to lose the game while I'm goine.

I've never modded an aquarium like this. For the first year I had this turtle I kept her in a ten gallon tank with no filter on it, I just carried outside dumped the water, cleaned the inside, and refilled it a couple times a week.

When you say the plexiglass eventually gives way, do you mean that the silicone won't hold it in place forever, right? That's why I asked if it would be a good idea to add brackets or not instead of just sticking it to the glass.

OK, So I got some good advice on installing the partition, but what about irrigation for the non-water part of the tank? I'm thinking that half a pvc pipe would suffice in transporting water across the dry half of the tank, but I've never done this before. Also, if I'm going to put some plants in it can I use sand, or should I go with potting soil? I was planning on putting some plants in there and then giving my turtle some lizards and/or toads as roommates, and then adding some crickets every week or so to keep them fed.

Ok, that's great. But we've already been over all of that. Do you have an opinion or any advice on the whole PVC pipe thing?
I mean really, I'm looking for some advice or constructive criticism here. Now if you're unfamiliar with option one, and you've lost the game recently I guess that option three is just coming to terms with the fact that one day you're going to get cancer. Probably in your ass, what with how you're a great big homo and all. And you'll die, and while you're going to be all like >OMGWTF about it, everybody else is going to be totally cool with it.

So back to the 'river' idea. Would half a PVC pipe work well in this scenario? I don't want water ending up where it isn't supposed to and have it not recirculating.
Speaking of losing water, any idea how I can combat evaporation? I lose a bunch of water due to evaporation. Is that just one of those things that is unavoidable, or am I just doing something wrong?

shit.

That is what I as thinking, it's nice to get a second opinion. I might take another look in the hardware store and if I can pick up a pair of plastic brackets for a couple bucks I'll go 'head and get them just to hedge my bets.

>> No.569723 [View]

>>569717
This is my first attempt at modding a tank. Plexiglas was the first idea I had, I knew it would work, and a square foot of it was $3.00. Can't beat that.

Another question that just came to mind is if I were to make a little river down the middle of the land side to provide water for plants or whatever land critters I throw in there, what would be the best thing to use? Maybe some PVC sawed in half?

>> No.569722 [View]

>>569712
I've got a 12"x12" sheet of plexiglas, that I'm probably going to shave an eighth of an inch or so off so that it fits perfectly. The biggest question I need an answer to is if I can just slide it in there since its tight enough of a fit and then apply the sealant or if it would be better to make brackets to make sure it stays in place.

Why the fuck does it matter if I'm using a trip code? Like, seriously? How in the fuck does it affect your life in any way? I didn't break into your house, piss in your coffee grounds and wipe my smegma all over your toothbrush, and steal your Christmas gifts on the way out. Why is it this big of a deal?

I apprecieate the blackup, homie, I really do; but you're just teaching them that their nigs ruffle jamblies. Try ignoring them and they might politely fuck off. You know, if we're lucky or something.

>>569673
Thank you for being the second guy to point that out. I did not know that prior to making this thread. I learned something. Wasn't that the point of making this thread in the first place? I really don't see why a tripcode makes you so butt mad. I barely notice the things myself. I read the posts, I don't really take the time to give a fuck what someone else posted in their name field. And seeing as being a tripfag has nothing to do with the point of this thread, why don't you tell me what your problem is with smoking the reefer?

Fuck it, here is another question I have. When I'm installing the Plexiglas partition, can I just snap it into place and put the sealant around it and have it stay; or should I get some more plexiglas or plastic or something to make brackets to make sure that it stays in place?

oh, shit yeah! I never thought about that.I'm an Eagles member, and where I live they're all about helping the community. A few weeks ago a whole bunch of my neighbors got together at the American Legion to hold a benefit dinner to help raise money for a local veteran who fell on hard luck
