Hey there. How do I fix this hole? I have no construction or building experience.

Get a job. Earn ~100 bucks. Go to hardware store
Buy new door.

You could spend a lot of time and effort patching it with some backing strips and a cutout and some sort of filler like wall board compound, but it'll still look like someone punched a hole in it because they are a 12 year old.

clear out the hole to form a rough square (you will have to make the hole larger in the process) then cut a thin piece of wood slightly larger than the hole, and drill two small holes in the centre.

feed about a foot of string through and tie the ends together.

cover one side of the wooden piece with pva glue, then feed it inside the door cavity. you should be able to rotate the wood until it completely covers the hole from inside the door. use the string loop to pull the piece against the door. you may have to find something to keep the string pulled tight while the glue dries.

once it's set, cut the string out, and all you have left will be a shallow ~1-2mm patch to cover with putty, sand and paint.

done this 3 or 4 times around the house.

>an experienced door puncher.

If it's a honey comb construction inside I usually fill the void with paper mâché and then skim the top with wall filler, sand and paint.

This takes a few days due to letting the paper mâché dry out.

shitty honeycomb door isn't worth replacing for the cost of a new one.
you might learn a real skill fitting it too.
or just put a poster over it.

Well, that looks like a deep hole in OP's pic. So more likely it'll be something like mud, sand, mud, sand, mud, sand, paint.

>> No.877835

Just put some damn filler in it and paint it over.

i put a fist through my parents inbuilt cupboard door and a poster covered it for a year and a half before anyone noticed.
i had moved out by then.
nobody really said anything which was weird because the hole was near the bottom so the poster was on the bottom half of the door, nothing on the top half.
I never admitted it but i think they probably figured it out.
i've been doing secret little fixup jobs when i visit ever since.

Slow build up over a couple of days until it's level with the remaining surface. Give it a day to completely go off, sand down flush with a high grit paper, then paint/gloss.

Just buy a god damn door, and stop punching the ones you have fuckface.

Measure the width, it will be an even number some where between 24 inches and 32 inches. They are sold by width in "foot-inches" measurements. So if your door is 28 inches wide, you need to look for a "2-4" door, and make sure you get the correct swing.Your door in the pic looks like a left handed door too. To find out what swing a door has, stand in the doorway with your back against the hinges, if the door opens to your right, its a right-handed door, opens to the left, left handed door. (standard height is 6'8, which i would guess is what your door is, unless you have some weird ass non standard size)
