- Tractor + Most farm equipment (I grew up in an agricultural environment)
- small search and rescue boats with water jets, commonly used in the oil&gas industry (A certification i contracted when in that industry)
- Offshore crane up to 16 tonnes (same as above)
- My car (it's a 90's Volvo, so this might count as a tractor too)
- Truck with ADR (contracted this from the military eons ago. Gonna have to renew it soon)

In addition, depending on what you mean by "training":
DP2 vessels. When working offshore the 2nd mate gave me a chance to steer the 120meter ship we worked on, as we were adrift waiting for clearance to enter Rio de Janeiro bay area. I'm not even close to what you would consider "qualified" or "trained", tho.

How does one get started on the path to learning heavy equipment?

>> No.799732

I can drive pretty much everything on the road, CDL with T P H N S X. I've driven buses, semi, and heavy equipment.

Pretty much all fork/lift trucks. Skid steers. I grew up on a farm so I've driven just about every piece of common farm equipment.

Portable crane. Considered becoming a crane operator, but I imagine those guys all one huge ball of stress.

Sunbelt a shit OP. I'm also certified to run aerial lifts. My training consisted of "ever ran one of these? No, ok start pulling levers and flipping switches until you figure it out." This was twelve years ago, I've ran hundreds of different lifts since then.
I'm certified on a bunch of shit, but basically if it has wheels, I can operate it, or at least move it out of my way.
