quick advice :
if you use duct tape to finish/hold the sword together, be sure to use it on the long side, along the blade.

if you tape around the sword, even if you don't stretch the tape or use force, it will squeeze the foam underneath and your sword will hurt like hell when you hit someone.

The one time this hobby has ever been useful for the internet, look up dagorhir and build your weapon by their standards, foam should be walmart brand shitty camping mat, use Dap brand contact cement (for the love of all things holy don't buy the 'gel' formula, relevant info on can, and don't be a tard and use duct tape, fet a cloth cover, it looks decent even if you can't sew.

Trust me, I've been doing this for like 4 years now, shits safe as a motherfucker.

Dagorhir guy again, go online and buy square fiberglass rods, better contact with the foam and less weapon flex, also cloth cover it, I've seen some plastidip shields and handles, and for the love of christ getting hit with that would hurt like a bitch

Not OP, but I have a question: does this kind of stuff have refs to say when you're dead? I imagine once you have some adrenaline pumping you either won't realize you've been hit or you'll keep on fighting for a few seconds until you police yourself.
