How would you make a u-joint?
I'm welding together a bike trailer and am not sure how to make the swing arm.
I think my best bet might be to weld to cut a slot in two hinges, piece them together and weld them.
Any better solutions?
I see that surly and bob and burley trailers use different mechanisms or real manufactured u-joints.

Wait, why do you need a u-joint? Those are for drive shafts. Will the wheels of this trailer be powered? How about you include a pic of what the fuck your talking about. Also, why would a pintle hitch or tow hitch not work?

the u joint is so the trailer can swing horizontally behind the bike as the bike steers, but also can twist vertically to compensate for bumps in the road without creating any binding.
A printle hitch might be perfect.

except, it seems there aren't any light duty printle hooks

So you a standard tow hitch. The reason they use a ball is so than can move up and down as well as side to side.
