How much money are these batteries worth?
There's 4 of them, one just isn't in the picture (thing on right is charge controller).
They're deep cycle RV/Marine Batteries, 1000 cold cranking amps and shit.

>> No.459847

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but Id say 2 dollars a pop. BAtteries jist serve no real function is all.

>> No.459853

If they are bad, then you should be able to get at least $10 a piece at a good scrapyard.

If they're good, then it's really up to how good you are at selling things.

>> No.459854

If they're good then you can get 50$+ a battery if you go to the right place.

The right place being someone who has a caravan.

1. look up price for new
2. undercut
3. ???
4. profit

>> No.459861

I wouldn't expect anyone to buy them for that price when they can buy one for cheaper brand new.

Then again, there's a sucker born every minute.

>> No.459863

I similar batteries for $200 new at various hardware stores.
I thought offering half price (including a charge controller) was reasonable.

It's obvious from the pic that it was taken in some wooded area where the stolen goods where moved to. The posts on the batts have obviously not been cleaned recently so it's clear that they have sat unused for awhile despite the labels being almost new.. As well, the batts are wet and covered in leaf litter. To me that says you hide them at least overnight in the woods so as not to get caught.

Add to this, you don't know what they are worth so it's obvious they are not yours.

You stole them from a cabin or someones RV. I hope you overdose on the crack you will end up trading them for.

OP stole one of the worst resale value-per-pound manufactured items.

>> No.459888

They're not stolen, my friend gave these to me but he "was in such a hurry" (his words) that he had to drop them in the ditch for me to pick up, mothefucking things are so heavy I can't even get them home so I stashed them in the woods.

This is only about 10 feet away from the road, this isn't deep in the woods.

Is $100 each reasonable?

People get these kind of batteries for shit they need to be reliable. If they buy from a dealer and their battery sinks into a pool of its own juices after a week or two they can go back to the dealer and say "Listen m8 you fucked up now give me batteries that work or I'll knife your in the face". If they buy admittedly rough-looking batteries from you which end up shitting the bed, then they can't do shit because you're long gone, you're just a faint smell and fading footsteps.

Deep cycles only last 2-3 years. One date code says 2008.
What you have before you is like... 24 american worth of lead
on a good day.
300 monies. lol
Also, CCA ratings don't mean shit on a deep cycle

$12 x 4 = $48

That's just the recycling value, fyi. Which is why I said $12ea.

>> No.460181

All of these people are retarded, the recycle value alone for lead batteries is as of today 40 cents a pound typically a marine deep cycle battery weighs 60 pounds so 5x60= 300lbs and 300lbs x.40 = 120 dollars thats 120 dollars to scrap them at a scrapyard. Dont take my word for it go to scrapmonster dot com they have all current prices. 90% of these idiots talk out of their ass and have no clue what they are talking about. Also you people are idiots to assume they are stolen as these batteries are replaced often and people just trash them or leave em lying around so people are free to take them since no one wants to lug them around.

>> No.460254

I'll not believe that because when you buy a battery there is usually a core charge if you don't turn in the old one.

You will not get anywhere near 40 cents/lb for scrap batteries. You might get 20-30 if you have several tons, closer to 10 if you have less than that. This is assuming you can even find a place to take them. Transport costs from many places make it prohibitive to pay you more than a few cents per pound.

What voltage are the batteries at? If tested at 12 volts, and a pretty good current, you should be able to get like 40-60 bucks.
If under 12, expect 10-20 bucks, as it has no purpose there.
At 9 volts the battery is useless for cars. 5 bucks at a scrapyard if lucky.
