Add some rubbing alcohol to the hydrogen peroxide. Ear wax is a lipid, so alcohol is a good solvent. The hydrogen peroxide still provides the mechanical action.

The trick is to spin/twirl them faster than you advance into your ear canal.

I took a friend to an ENT to get her head unfucked. Pounds and pounds of alien looking shit came outta her head. Wrath of Khan nastiness.

For giggles, I had the guy look in my ears. He said I had an unusually low amount of crud in there.

I told him my parents taught me how to clean my ears like a boss. Doc laughed, friend was pissed.

Background: Recently the worldwide usage of earphones has increased especially among the school and college students who have a high rate of sharing among them. Alike airline headsets, headphones and stethoscope ear-pieces, ear phones can easily be a vector of potential pathogens, which can give rise to otitis externa. Purpose: To compare the bacterial growth of the external ear in association with earphone and assess the role of earphones as vector or microorganisms. Material and Methods: 50 voluntary male subjects (age 18-25 years) were chosen and divided into two groups, A and B, according to the use of earphones. Swabs were taken from their left ear and the left earpiece of the earphone. Samples were processed as recommended. Results: In group A, bacteria were found in 20 (80%) ear and 14 (56%) earphone swabs. In group B, bacteria were found in 23 (92%) ear and 17 (68%) earphone swabs. Group B showed heavy growth and a significant increase in the number of bacterial growths after frequent and constant use. Conclusion: Frequent and constant use of earphones increases the bacterial growth in the ear and sharing of earphones might be a potential vector of commensals. It is therefore, always better not to share or else to clean the earphones before sharing

Man, what a relief!

Anyway, I'd say, don't let it get to that point, use a Q-tip every day to scrape just the bottom of your ear, don't use a tissue and finger, that pushes it deeper in the cavity and compacts it.

I wouldn't disagree with that--basically--except to say that it would be better to use Everclear than rubbing alcohol,,,,, assuming you live somewhere that you can get Everclear

the stuff used to make denatured alcohol undrinkable,,, is toxic to the body. Putting toxic stiff into your ears is not a good idea.

I was getting a lot of popping sounds in my ear, like it was getting clogged and unclogged. Went to my family doctor where she proceeded to use some shitty thing to shoot warm water in my ear which didnt work. She gave me Rugby Ear Drops (Carbanide Peroxide) which didnt work too well.
Went to an ENT where he probed my ears with something that looked like that. Was one of the most cold and disturbing feelings i felt. Pulled out some greenish looking wax. It was pretty gnarly. Got my ears tested later by a hot german Doctor. She commented that my ear canals were small. Asked her if that was bad thing, she said "No, theyre just small"

If you get wax on the eardrum, warm (but not hot) olive oil is excellent. just tilt your head, drop some in with an eye dropper and give it a few minutes then repeat.

I get dermatitis so flakes of skin bind with the earwax to give me problems, the above clears it 9/10 times but occasionally I need the quak to give me a warm saline washout.

One time even that didn't work and I had to use twizzled (into a spike) paper towel. Took half a dozen goes and my eardrum was sor but it worked

"In Japan, a mimikaki, sometimes translated as “ear pick”, is a type of curette made traditionally from bamboo used to clean the ear canal. Since the majority of the populace have the dry-type ear wax, as do most Asians, it is easier for them to remove the crusty flakes with an ear pick rather than a Q-tip. The person having their ears cleaned would lie down with their head in the lap of the person doing the cleaning. It is generally considered a pleasant feeling for Japanese, like having one’s back scratched. The cleaning of ears is thus considered an act of intimacy, often performed by a mother to a child or, among adults, by one’s lover. It may also be performed alone."

Tinnitus is "the ringing sound" itself. It can be caused by many things:

Read up. Also, consider seeing a general practitioner (family doctor). Some of the causes can be easily treatable while others can not. Still other problems can be indicative of more serious problems you'd need to address soon.

Every couple of years, I have a physician or ENT clean my ears out, but in between, I use the rounded end of a bobby pin. Q-tips really only get the stuff near the opening, unless you use the small ones. I've used the small ones with the spin technique, which for me, has proved ineffective, since I have unusually hard wax. (actually, it ranges from hard burgundy wax, to soft orange wax, and flaky white wax filled with dead skin cells from dermetitis).

I've had some luck with the "De-Brox" drops, and hot steamy showers to soften the wax. I'll try the alcohol/peroxide mixture once I'm satisfied the two are safe to mix, which I think they are. Now i'm second guessing using rubbing alcohol, thanks to Anon. I'll try a little of my 100 proof vodka.
