Diy can we get an infograpic thread going

>> No.336113

Most infographics are so fucking pointless. OPs is pretty cool but it's not something I'd ever need.

It'd be nice to have a thread that wasn't filled with pointless "xray girls" or "bubble girls" or those "here's how to hack a vending machine".

Indian yellow faded away because the paint smelled like piss. Even after drying out, the odor remained. And since this paint was imported from India, it was costly and used for nobility's order. And not much of them wanted a painting that smelled like that.
Luckily, the hue was recreated with modern techs not too long ago.

Impractical, vehicles that old and in running condition are becoming too rare to find in your typical unattended lot. For this to reliably work, you have to find a pre-1985 car/truck that follows the American design conventions of the carburetor era. In a post-apocalyptic survival situation you'd probably spend a week trying to locate such a vehicle. Looking up and down the streets in my neighborhood, I see exactly one vehicle that meets those standards, it belongs to a gangbanger, and it is not in running condition.

You'd do better with the mid-90's Honda method of using a prybar or long-handled screwdriver to crack the unified ignition switch / steering lock off of the steering column, pulling the ignition switch out of the back of the (now broken) lock assembly, and operating it by hand. That works on almost every Japanese import through the 90's, and I'm amazed there's no infographic for it (yet). Looking up and down my street I see a half-dozen cars on just my block it would apply to. It's why Civics and Accords are some of the most commonly stolen cars in the US.

Also this isn't even usually necessary if you have a couple Honda keys lying around. Almost any honda/acura key from the 90's or earlier will open and start almost any other honda or acura of the era.

That's done by jamming a long handled prying implement between the lock assembly and the steering column and prying down hard. The collar that attaches it to the steering column will crack, and when the assembly comes down, so does the steering wheel lock pin.

Getting the actual /switch/ off of the lock is trivial - this is on the other end of the lock cylinder and it can be unscrewed or simply ripped off. Turning that will fire the car - unless the owner (knowing full well that he owns a theft-prone vehicle) has installed a killswitch.

How to Pick a Padlock

Requirements: Scissors, Soda Can, Padlock.

Take the soda can and cut a rectangular strip.

Cut a W into the metal strip.

Fold it around, making a circle.

Push the metal circle into the padlock and pull the lock upwards at the same time.

Enjoy.

I had a 10' head flow fountain pump inside mine and I keep bags of ice in it. It was glorious in comparison to no ice water.
