What is your favorite hand tool?

Mine is the drawknife.

I'd love to get a few beginner projects for something like these. I got a set for Christmas last year, and I really want to become proficient with them, but I have no idea where to start.

>> No.303462

For sheer orgasmic pleasure, it's a file. But my favourite tool in my collection is a certain size Phillips head screwdriver. It fits every small screw I can find.

>> No.303471

Myself as well. I have a small set of detailing chisels and am really looking forward to getting some practice. My best guess in terms of improving ones skill would be to pick a simple project and work from there. I'm thinking about doing a simple geometric pattern on a skateboard deck for a friend, as an example.

An old, beat up Phillips Screwdriver I found as atalented /diy/erin the middle of a park. I still use it nowdays, but it's mostly my favorite due to sentimental value.

This.
Frankly, it's not phenomenal multi-tool, but it's the only one that I ALWAYS have on me (even when flying. TSA never finds this shit). And for the price (<$10), there's no reason not to have one.

My second favourite is a nice set of tiny screwdrivers. Don't buy cheap ones like these because you cannot apply a lot of torque without losing your grip
