>fuck that shit, I might use this like twice in my life, where's the cheap stuff?
>drive to Walmart
>wrench at Walmart is $13
>BUT WAIT, I can buy a 54-piece socket set complete with the wrench I need and 53 random sockets (not including the one I need) and adapters for only $9!
>maybe Menards has a cheapo wrench. they obviously exist.
>drive to Menards, cheapest is like $16
>but they have a breaker bar for $5, so there we go.
>get home, remove crank bolts on bike, cranks (arms that hold the pedals) won't come off
>google tells me I need ANOTHER stupid little tool to get those off
>call bike shop, $15 for tool
>FUCK YOU
>find crappy, cheap version of tool which will almost undoubtedly break instantly for $5 on ebay

If your not handy at all and don't see why buying a good socket wrench set, then just go to the god damn bike shop and have them repair your bike for you. Being poor is knowing that whatever you fucking buy will last.

Why buy a tool of inferior quality that you know will break? That's just stupid and a big waste of money.

So many grammar problems.

OP, do you have a Harbor Freight nearby? They sell cheap tools. Emphasis on cheap. Quality and cost to be honest.

When has getting something repaired professionally ever been cheaper than doing it yourself? Anyway, I can return the wrench and socket and get my money back for that when I'm done.

I bought a socket set from Home Depot with like 2 dozen sockets plus 1/4"-3/8" drive ratchet for like $10. habeeb it. Who buys one random socket ?

I'm not the OP, but I am a liberal. I would like to say that not all liberals are like that.

Personally, I own a decent amount of tools, but nothing too fancy. Enough to do basic woodworking and minor car maintenance, like changing oil, transmission fluid or replacing/gapping spark plugs.

Fuck you. You needed it. You used it. You own it. Fucks sake, how can you, in the years stretching out in front of you, never see a need for a socket set? I don't use mine daily, or even monthly, but when I need it, it's there. And that's invaluable at say 11pm when your washer won't drain.

second hand stores (i.e. Goodwill) often have random collections of sockets you can buy individually, they also wont differentiate on quality typically all the same price (cheaper than anything mentioned so far) . And if you don't live in a city with a bike co-op maybe you should start one.
